Good price for an excellent full flavoured bottled beer!!
Brewers notes...... One of the South's most famous beers, this full-bodied and distinctive amber ale is malty and fruity, with balancing hop character and a lingering 'malt-loaf' finish.

Aldi have currently a large range of ales priced at £1.29. Like a mini beer festival and nice to see.
I'll stock up a few next week, but hope they continue with this range or add and change about.

I've never heard of this before now, hoping I can get some in Scotland....hmmmmm. I'll admit to thinking this was the price for a six pack, and almost spitting my coffee out.......

Doubt if you'll get 6X up here. They normally stock a good range of local ales, Williams brothers stuff. Deuchars etc. All excellent value if they're knocking them out for £1.29 though.

No sign of the big supermarkets doing a "beer fest" event. They seem to have lost interest. I got loads from Morrisons last year for £1 each.

Morrisons have been doing a regular £1 bottle deal all this year, various ales on one or two at a time.

This is true but they were common ales whereas last year they had a range of "proper" craft ales from small brewers.

Today they had some weird fruit infused ale on for a £1, and also Felinfoel Double Dragon which is not a common ale outside Wales.

Yeah, the raspberry beer has been sold before. An acquired taste. I got some Wychwood Dr. thirst for £1 ish.

The Morrison's 'beer festival' was very good and popular.

The Morrisons festival was very good indeed. Beers started at £1.65 then came down to £1 a few weeks later.

Aldi and Lidl do these kind of prices all the time. Great value for money compared to going to the pub with my Mrs where I have to pay £8 every half hour for two drinks just to listen to her moaning and complaining and about how crap life is and I am.

No Youngs stout in Wallsend Aldi but I did get 6 x peaky blinders, a black ipa from saddlers, an exceptional beer, and one I've it had for ages.
