I've never had to chase them. Nor have loads of people Although I did have to chase Sky recently about being overcharged by £40 for Fibre this month. These things happen with every company out there.
I really don't get your point. Obviously Sky make mistakes. Obviously Topcashback make mistakes. Thank you for confirming this. How do you want them to fix this mistake without you raising it as an issue on their own website? Perhaps your account itself has an issue that needs investigating, instead of repeatedly claiming more bonuses and then saying on a different forum that none are paying out? In all their previous promos, the bonus ALWAYS track at the same time as the normal cashback.
On this occasion, it has not which makes me think TCB has changed the way the Bonus is tracked. I think I read somewhere that the bonus tracks within 7 days so I will give them a week.

Your missing the point. Why should I have to chase them because their system is flawed? Surely the most basic of things is for it to pick up when a matching transaction pays out to pay the bonus. Maybe I'm expecting too much, I just find it bizarre that something so simple that should be automated requires manual intervention by humans.

I assume the previous £5 bonus for a £10 spend in August (50% extra cashback) was much more popular than this deal (only 20% extra cashback) but the bonus managed to track at the same time as the normal transaction on that deal.
Therefore, huge demand is unlikely to be the cause of this problem.

Sadly, that isn't the case. Many times the transaction progresses naturally to payable, but the bonus doesn't! Which means the bonus needs to be chased up! That's a fact and a reality of what to expect. Topcashback do add the bonus once pushed, but they need to be pushed! A good promotion and one that is repeated, but it isn't yet perfect! Fridays bonus isn't yet showing for this offer, but the transaction clearly is. Yes, it has been activated and is clearly visible. Has there been an issue this time?

I always treat topcashback as a bonus rather than a deciding factor when choosing where to purchase, so anything I get is an extra, but the cashback has paid for two short breaks so far. Therefore I've got nothing but love for topcashback, I've had to raise a few tickets along the way but they've always paid out, some tracking has taken up to a year, but I'm not relying on it so I don't stress over it at all. Used it to buy three things from eBay this timeand popped them in the same basket before paying so hopefully that will work out fine as well.

I've had plenty of occasions when I've received the following outcome from a TCB claim:
"TCB: I’m afraid that the merchant has taken the decision to decline your missing commission claim, no information in helping to clarify as to why this decision has been reached has been provided".
That is a major problem with the current system implemented by TopCashBack. I'm sure merchants need to sign some contract before being listed on TCB, so I'm shocked that one of the terms doesn't state the merchant is to provide a valid reason for denying any claims. It may have been the case when TCB were the upstarts in this Cashback business, but since I now believe TCB are one of the big players I think TCB should be able to demand a bit more for their members and insist that all merchants give a more specific reason for denying genuine claims, especially if the member could provide proof of all order references/confirmations etc...
Another common get out excuse from merchants is for big transactions to be miraculously referred by some entity other than TCB (even though all my purchases are always done through a separate incognito/private tab). Surprisingly, it is also supposedly against Data Protection rules for the merchant to tell me which site had supposedly referred my purchase. They had supposedly referred/introduced me but I'm not allowed to know?? Bit silly!

Ive always found TC to be great, even when a ticket is raised. I think Matt has responded really well here when we could expect posting on a public site to be frowned on by some business's. I look at cashback as a bonus rather than a certainty. If it gets rejected for whatever reason and a ticket doesn't resolve it, well thats one of those things. In the 10 years or so of using TC and Quidco ive gained more than £4,500, not bad for a few extra clicks :grin: Hopefully ill get my £3 too!

Whoa. A lot of anger and frustration here - fair play to Matt, he's responding to comments where possible.
I've always treated cashback as a bonus and certainly not a guaranteed form of cash when making purchases. 8 times out of 10 it tracks and pays out no problems. The other 2 times I have to submit manual claims and about half them (eventually) pay out. It's annoying when you get a declined claim, but that's part and parcel of the online cashback world.
I think people need to change their mindset here when it comes to getting cashback. I've spent thousands online over the years and have received a very nice sum of cashback over the same period which I'm very grateful for.

I need to clarify that TopCashback and Quidco have exactly the same safeguards when it comes to merchant administrations. Merchant administrations are unfortunate for everyone involved - from the members of the company who sometimes struggle to get their wages for their work to members of our site who were waiting on cashback.
To enlighten you a little more to what our claims team here do, millions of pounds have been recovered for our members. That's due to the money we invest in creating a large and specially trained claims team to spend hours every day working with networks to get resolutions for each claim that is submitted.
I am sorry if a claim or some of your claims haven't been positively resolved - sometimes the merchant and their network stand by their decisions and we have to respect that but we will do everything we can to ensure where we should be paid the commission we get that commission.
If you have any concerns about how the customer care you received during your claims process then I kindly ask that you raise this directly on your claims thread so we can take the relevant steps to investigate this. However, the comments you are made in this forum are hugely false accusations that needed to be addresses.

I see you used your own standard generic template to respond to bad publicity.
Why don't you address the fact that TCB sit on claims for 18 months, wait for the merchant to go bust and then tell customers sorry "we couldn't recoup the cashback".....
TCB has zero safeguards or agreements in place to re-coup any outstanding cashback for members, should a merchant go bust.... I would question if put all your resources into recouping the money from dropped merchant for your TCB Xmas party instead???
At least Quidco go the extra mile and keep you informed.
Here is how TCBs model works:
1) Member submits a manual claim 2) Two weeks later, TCB get round to reading it 3) Another weeks passes, then you allegedly send it to the merchant or their network 4) Member sends a nudge after 2 months 5) Member send a nudge after 4 months 6) Member sends a nudge after 8 months 7) Member send a nudge after 12 months 8 ) Member send a nudge after 16 months 9 ) Out of the blue after 18 months TCB replies with "Oh so sorry, merchant no longer with us", sorry no cashback for you. 10) TCB Xmas Party beckons and bonuses all round for TCB workers.
In my opinion, I reckon only about 10% off click bait TCB incentives actually track and then you drop 75% off all manual claims... You know i'm right !!! :skull_crossbones:

Holiday merchants won't start to progress the cashback until a few weeks after the stay. After this time it can vary depending on how fast the hotel tells the merchant the stay has been completed and how fast this is relayed to us. This is a merchant that pays us very regularly and I can assure you as soon as they do pay us for this we will get this progressed as much as possible.
Our support team are quipped to assist as much as possible. With slow progressing transactions it can be a difficult situation for us as ultimately we haven't been paid ourselves but the team will help as much as they can in explaining the situation should the merchant have not paid us yet.

It's not down to TopCashback to decide what is and what isn't eligible I am afriad. It's the merchant and their tracking network that need to make sure you made and eligible purchase and also make sure we're the last referrer. Both of these can not come from screenshots or order numbers alone.
We want this resolved as much as you do, It makes no sense from both a customer service and resourcing perspective to keep claims ongoing for any longer than absolutely essential. I am sorry if you believe we are doing it delibertly to frustrate you but I can firmly say we are not. Best wishes,Matt

Hi Matt, because of the issues I've had in the past, I've pretty much adhered to the guidelines you've described above and it's still hit and miss. Real shame really. I bet I've lost out on at least a couple of quid over the last year or so. On this occasion, at the end of the purchase (the last click) it looked like it was going to show the "we have tracked your purchase" pop up but it just sat trying to load and did nothing. Dissapointing.
My father has been waiting a very long time for an Expedia purchase to go from confirmed to payable and every time he contacts support they basically just say it should be paid soon.
Is there a better way to get support with this issue because he is getting increasingly frustrated as it is a large amount.
I'm a big fan overall but would appreciate some help with this.

I do need to emphasise we record click records - not the actual purchase. If you clicked on one of our links the click has been recorded. You can double check your clicks on your account account by clicking the right hand column in your earnings section.
The tracking is out of TopCashback's and all other cashback site's control. Therefore changing cashback sites won't prevent transactions going untracked.
What can help transactions track however, is changing the way you make purchases through a cashback site. Such as clearing cookies and cache before logging in, only having one web browser open and one web tab open, not having add ons within your browser.
Tracking of purchases is based on cookies and not what cashback site you prefer.You need to make it as easy as possible for a cashback site's cookie to show up as attached to your purchase and we will offer you as much advice as we can to help that.

If I purchase two items that are less than £15 each but combined together are over £15 from different eBay sellers, and use the basket option to checkout and pay in one transaction, will this still count for the bonus? because I think each item tracks seperately on Topcashback.

good Question, they normally only pay the bonus of confirmation of the purchase, your casback will be confirmed as £0.00 if it tracks, best contact tcb see what they say. if your not getting cashback from amazon its doubtful topcashback will be making any as well so its doubtful they will pay a bonus if you ask me.

I can confirm that thousands of transactions have tracked in the system. If a bonus hasn't tracked we'll need to look into the specifics of exactly how this happened and what we need to do to resolve that.

I really don't get your point. Obviously Sky make mistakes. Obviously Topcashback make mistakes. Thank you for confirming this. How do you want them to fix this mistake without you raising it as an issue on their own website? Perhaps your account itself has an issue that needs investigating, instead of repeatedly claiming more bonuses and then saying on a different forum that none are paying out? At least give them a chance to fix it!!
On this occasion, it has not which makes me think TCB has changed the way the Bonus is tracked. I think I read somewhere that the bonus tracks within 7 days so I will give them a week.

Ebay purchases normally have that delay, but this is a first for Debenhams.
As others have stated, bonuses normally track alongside the purchase.

It's hardly complicated - the TopCashBack people on here have, in fact, made it incredibly simple.
However if you do not want the bonuses at all, simply do nothing - like you have done for the last 6 months? 1 year?

I assume the previous £5 bonus for a £10 spend in August (50% extra cashback) was much more popular than this deal (only 20% extra cashback) but the bonus managed to track at the same time as the normal transaction on that deal.
Therefore, huge demand is unlikely to be the cause of this problem.
Have had problems before because if you you buy from more than one seller, even though it is one basket it gets split into multiple transactions. Would i need to spend £15 on a specific product from a seller or just one basket checkout?
Many times the transaction progresses naturally to payable, but the bonus doesn't!
Which means the bonus needs to be chased up!

I've had plenty of occasions when I've received the following outcome from a TCB claim:
"TCB: I’m afraid that the merchant has taken the decision to decline your missing commission claim, no information in helping to clarify as to why this decision has been reached has been provided".
That is a major problem with the current system implemented by TopCashBack. I'm sure merchants need to sign some contract before being listed on TCB, so I'm shocked that one of the terms doesn't state the merchant is to provide a valid reason for denying any claims. It may have been the case when TCB were the upstarts in this Cashback business, but since I now believe TCB are one of the big players I think TCB should be able to demand a bit more for their members and insist that all merchants give a more specific reason for denying genuine claims, especially if the member could provide proof of all order references/confirmations etc...
Another common get out excuse from merchants is for big transactions to be miraculously referred by some entity other than TCB (even though all my purchases are always done through a separate incognito/private tab). Surprisingly, it is also supposedly against Data Protection rules for the merchant to tell me which site had supposedly referred my purchase. They had supposedly referred/introduced me but I'm not allowed to know?? Bit silly!
I look at cashback as a bonus rather than a certainty. If it gets rejected for whatever reason and a ticket doesn't resolve it, well thats one of those things. In the 10 years or so of using TC and Quidco ive gained more than £4,500, not bad for a few extra clicks :grin: Hopefully ill get my £3 too!
So you need to spend £18.75 or more including VAT just to be on the safe side.

I've always treated cashback as a bonus and certainly not a guaranteed form of cash when making purchases. 8 times out of 10 it tracks and pays out no problems. The other 2 times I have to submit manual claims and about half them (eventually) pay out. It's annoying when you get a declined claim, but that's part and parcel of the online cashback world.
I think people need to change their mindset here when it comes to getting cashback. I've spent thousands online over the years and have received a very nice sum of cashback over the same period which I'm very grateful for.
Be interesting to see if I get both the cashback and the bonus £3 too.

I need to clarify that TopCashback and Quidco have exactly the same safeguards when it comes to merchant administrations. Merchant administrations are unfortunate for everyone involved - from the members of the company who sometimes struggle to get their wages for their work to members of our site who were waiting on cashback.
To enlighten you a little more to what our claims team here do, millions of pounds have been recovered for our members. That's due to the money we invest in creating a large and specially trained claims team to spend hours every day working with networks to get resolutions for each claim that is submitted.
I am sorry if a claim or some of your claims haven't been positively resolved - sometimes the merchant and their network stand by their decisions and we have to respect that but we will do everything we can to ensure where we should be paid the commission we get that commission.
If you have any concerns about how the customer care you received during your claims process then I kindly ask that you raise this directly on your claims thread so we can take the relevant steps to investigate this. However, the comments you are made in this forum are hugely false accusations that needed to be addresses.

Why don't you address the fact that TCB sit on claims for 18 months, wait for the merchant to go bust and then tell customers sorry "we couldn't recoup the cashback".....
TCB has zero safeguards or agreements in place to re-coup any outstanding cashback for members, should a merchant go bust.... I would question if put all your resources into recouping the money from dropped merchant for your TCB Xmas party instead???
At least Quidco go the extra mile and keep you informed.
Here is how TCBs model works:
1) Member submits a manual claim
2) Two weeks later, TCB get round to reading it
3) Another weeks passes, then you allegedly send it to the merchant or their network
4) Member sends a nudge after 2 months
5) Member send a nudge after 4 months
6) Member sends a nudge after 8 months
7) Member send a nudge after 12 months
8 ) Member send a nudge after 16 months
9 ) Out of the blue after 18 months TCB replies with "Oh so sorry, merchant no longer with us", sorry no cashback for you.
10) TCB Xmas Party beckons and bonuses all round for TCB workers.
In my opinion, I reckon only about 10% off click bait TCB incentives actually track and then you drop 75% off all manual claims... You know i'm right !!! :skull_crossbones:
Our support team are quipped to assist as much as possible. With slow progressing transactions it can be a difficult situation for us as ultimately we haven't been paid ourselves but the team will help as much as they can in explaining the situation should the merchant have not paid us yet.

My father has been waiting a very long time for an Expedia purchase to go from confirmed to payable and every time he contacts support they basically just say it should be paid soon.
Is there a better way to get support with this issue because he is getting increasingly frustrated as it is a large amount.

The tracking is out of TopCashback's and all other cashback site's control. Therefore changing cashback sites won't prevent transactions going untracked.
What can help transactions track however, is changing the way you make purchases through a cashback site. Such as clearing cookies and cache before logging in, only having one web browser open and one web tab open, not having add ons within your browser.
Tracking of purchases is based on cookies and not what cashback site you prefer.You need to make it as easy as possible for a cashback site's cookie to show up as attached to your purchase and we will offer you as much advice as we can to help that.

We do try all we can, this is reflected here also. We have an alternative option available to us and this would be to give up on your claim and just decline it. We don't think that's fair and I hope you agree.
