From the No. 1 bestselling author of What If? - the man who created xkcd and explained the laws of science with cartoons - comes a series of brilliantly simple diagrams ('blueprints' if you want to be complicated about it) that show how important things work: from the nuclear bomb to the biro.
I love reading xkcd and have been after this book for a while and when it dropped to this price I was straight in.

Brilliant book, and a well made hardback as well. I love this as much as the kids do.

Something simple which is over complicated by remoaners who don't want it to happen.
Probably refers you to King Canute and the tide as a previous example of the inevitable happening despite the opposition of the intransigent.

Whereas one use to hear out and about children crying to their parents 'I don't want to leave' now its more likely its the other way round...

Think so, I own it and don't remember any NSFW concepts in there. Language is pretty accessible too

Should be, yes; you can see a sample of some of the pages with Amazon's "look inside" feature.

Great book for young and old. Great diagrams and an alternative view on all different things.

You're welcome.
Mine has just dispatched for delivery tomorrow (well today now hopefully) along with a Heineken Dash Button and Dishonored Death of the Outsider.
Looking forward to reading this while installing the game and pressing the button in the vain hope that they will bring me my lager before playing (I know they won't but a man can dream).
