I need some heavy duty tape to seal up some asbestos, will this do the trick?

Don't think most people would like to say either way............Just in case

Asbestos smells l-o-v-e-l-y.
Fact. :-)
Though one you will probably never have a chance (or wish) to confirm or disprove.
And yes. I am speaking from experience...

It's perfectly safe if you don't break it up. Just double bag it and our council tip takes it in for free. Get the proffesionals in and they'll charge you a couple of grand so not really good advice on a money saving forum...

To be fair and I'm not getting into an argument here what steevieboy4u said is actually sound advice. Who's to say the asbestos won't break when removing? The stuff is lethal end of story and whilst I get your point about removals being pricey it all depends what it is and where it is.
For example I myself had an asbestos garage roof removed recently and it cost less then £200 where some others quoted £1000!
£200 is peanuts when you are talking about potential massive health risks for not only yourself ' but your family and others around the area.
Any asbestos disturbed is dangerous and yea I know all about the so called advantages of wetting it first.
It's just not worth the risk.
Back on topic this deal is HOT! :raised_hand:

If they only charged you £200 there is no way they disposed of the asbestos properly, it will be dumped in a lay-by somewhere. Did they tarmac your drive at the same time?

No - it was disposed of properly as the guy was doing it as a foreigner and disposing of it at his works on a Saturday morning. The company he works for is? Yes an asbestos removal contractor. - he even sent me copies of his certs and qualifications.
Theres not much else I can add really except it's all true.
If yo don't believe then tough poo.

There's money saving and there's risking your health/life just to save a few hundred quid. I know what I'd do for sure.
I know 3 people who have died due to asbestos, one of them was the blokes wife, due to washing his overalls! She unfortunately breathed in some of the dust whilst handling his work clothes :disappointed:

Duck tape, then Gorilla tape, now T.Rex tape!? I think I'll save my pennies and wait for Sperm Whale tape. (Bigger animal = better tape yeah?)
That's ok - I'm fairly certain screwfix don't care.
What you may have failed to realise is those are add on items so amazon want a minimum order of £20 just so they can ' justify ' them selling you duck tape for £2.
Where as this super tough T. rex superior tape is just £1.49 for 30 feet of the stuff and is likely to suit most people's requirements.

Has anyone tried this - I've had a few "bargain" heavy duty tapes and very few have had strong adhesive.
Don't forget yer TCB

Not this particular one but I always get my gaffer tape from Screwfix now, after buying it from more expensive shops and then trying to get cheaper stuff online which is always substandard. I get the regular 50mm x 50m black tape for £3.29 here and it's great quality for the price (and also much better value than the one listed here considering how much you get, unless you really need narrower tape).

This seems more like the Gorilla tape than the usual 50mm thick duct tape, another fab deal on Screwfix.

The majority of these rolls of tape are usually 25 mm wide but 50 Metres long The picture both on this post and on the Screwfix website show a roll that is at Least 50 metres long when in fact its only 9 metres long

Hope everyone who is ordering this has noticed this is only 25mm tape (so half the usual width) of the standard gaffa tape people usual use?
