Not slagging off your post, the price is good. But seriously if your car is so old it needs one of these it is ready for the scrap heap!! I speak from experience  plus these things seem to attract thieves as they twig it is the only thing protecting the car.

You're so wrong.
Modern cars are easier to steal than ever if they have keyless entry.
My car was stolen without the alarm going off, without breaking the glass and without the key.
My advice to everyone is do something to protect your OBD port and get a steering wheel lock.

Good luck with that, if this stuff is on youtube really just how much protection do you think it adds

I often see opportunist thieves walking round with a hacksaw  .
even 33 seconds is valuable.
also, if there are two car parked one with a steering lock and one without, which is the opportunist taking? For a tenner I can't see any problem with buying one.
having a steering lock doesn't make the car 'easier' to steal.

I would have thought they would have the saw under their coat or in a bag? or have the pipe cutter in a pocket? still if they are robbing cars with cheap locks on them they must be a bit thick to start with

I saw a neat demo on TV some months ago of one of the latest methods used by some car thieves, if you've got a car with keyless entry, it takes two car thieves, each with one half of a clever bit of hardware wireless linked to each other that trick the car and key into thinking they are next to each other by relaying the unlock signals sent between the key and car.
In the middle of the night, one thief stands by your car, the other at your front door, the devices also use much more powerful transmitters and recievers that that in the car and can connect to a key inside the house unlock the door and allow the thief to start and drive off.

that was most likely made my a company who make a different type of car lock and want you to buy theirs instead..
obviously locks like this wont stop a professional car thief or someone who is determined in an insane way to steal a specific car
it's all about putting your basic car thief off, just like the fake tracker, fake alarm and fake cctv stickers people use
I had a Volvo 850 t5r stolen years back, they hit a certain point on the bumper with a hammer, released the airbags and the doors automatically unlocked
the car was then hot wired and taken, probably took all of 60 seconds, something like this on the wheel would extend that time
that is if they actually had the extra equipment required to remove a steering wheel lock of some sort or even bothered with the car after seeing some extra security

I had one of these on my car about 20 years ago and it saved my car from being pinched. They had already cut through the steering wheel and started cutting through it again to remove the lock when they were disturbed and ran off..I vote hot.

Heat.... The new car security systems are kind of weak not sure if bm still have the odb weakness in pretty sure Mercs were affected too. Still probably won't buy one-hated them back in the day as a clunky thing that used to take up to much space in the passenger footwell

Not just BMWs and Mercs, just a regular Fiesta is easily taken thanks to the OBD port.

My car isn't old (well, not that old) and is fully alarmed but I always use one of these as well. I figure if the scumbags are going to nick a car they'll leave mine alone and go for an easier target. Heat added!

first of all this isnt a bad price for this, however it really isnt the best lock and can be removed normally in a minute or 2, its better than nothing though!!! Better off buying a complete steering wheel cover ( disclock ) , ok they cost about the £100 mark but are very good and would take some time to get off.. ok so i know they could just tow your car away or break into your house or carjack you but hey ho... And to the comment about only needing this if your car is 20 years old etc.. think again. Do you know that you can now get devices that can read your little chip in your car keys from inside your house and then copy the code to start your car on the drive!!! yes it is happening all across the country but car manufacturers are suppressing these reports as much as possible!
Also gadgets to copy the code when you are locking / unlocking your car, hey presto you go shopping they get into your car.. ok so its not full proof and is a common fault with Audi A4s and Ford Focus as these are the easiest cars to copy the code, also sometimes it will only work to physically start the car so they end up smashing a window to get in inorder to drive it away!!! Anyway to the person who said the comment you are very very much mistaken..
