The soundtrack alone is worth the price! HEAT!

It's a good game, nothing more.
The hype is purely down to nostalgia. The game itself plays well enough, aside from the poor platforming areas, and the soundtrack is epic.
Pacing lets it down though sadly, and the levels become predictable very quickly.
I personally found Wolfenstein: The New Order to be a far better as a game.

Both those factors have nothing to do with the quality of this game, at least for me. Hype rarely affects my desire to play and enjoy games or movies, and I've only played classic Doom years later when it was already outdated. Also, pacing is one of the best things about this game, so I'm not sure what you are talking about.
The only thing I can agree on with you is that the New Order is a better game, at least in my opinion.

I paid £8.99 for it and it's totally worth it. A straight up fun first person shooter

It is a shame, I half finished this on PS4, I can't quite bring myself to buy it on PC, even though I sold my Ps4 version months ago..... But kinda tempted.

Best FPS in years. Well worth it if you haven't picked it up yet. Even the multiplayer is still ticking over and now all the multiplayer DLC is included for everyone.
My only complaint about the game is the size of the install.
It is pretty but also just incredibly well optimised, it runs so well even on older setups.

I bet this turns into the next Shadow of Morder. Usual price low but it goes hot every time it drops to £3, which is.. a lot.

What an unbelievable price for an unbelievable game. And as if the game wasn't enough, all DLC are now included with the main game for no extra charge.

Lol. It's just because some game price is going down quite rapidly and this game seems to be one of them. It's a good game but for some reason it's getting cheaper every month. Since I have loads of game that I haven't played, I don't mind to wait a bit longer for further drop.

I've still got HL2 to complete, so I think I'm on the £1.56 bus too

Great Doom game, played console version and it was non stop action the entire way. It got almost repetitive nearer the end as it's mostly waves of enemies to clear in each area, but the atmosphere, graphics and locations kept me going

If anyone still wondering if they should bite it this price then I can assure you that you won't be disappointed. Great FPS shooter even so at this price. You are definitely getting more value for your money for this game at this price

Still hot at twice the price! Rather jealous of people jumping on for the price of a pretentious pint at their local hipster bar! :sunglasses:
