I mentioned this on the SG-1 deal but figured it is worth mentioning here too:
You can stream the entire Stargate library for a one off fee of $20 - stargatecommand.co/ (Starts 20/09/17). This is the new official home of Stargate and will also provide first access to the new show Stargate Origins when it gets released.

I'm a little disappointed with this as it seems to only be for U.S. residents only :rage:

Only the preorder T-Shirt is US only, the service is worldwide when it launches on the 20th.
From the FAQ:
Who can become an All-Access member of Stargate Command?
While the pre-sale is for U.S. residents only, fans in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia and New Zealand will be able to purchase the All-Access Pass after the Stargate Command platform launches on September 20, 2017 via an in-app purchase through the Stargate Command mobile app, which will be available on their local app store.

its not a one time fee even though MGM say it is you pay 20 dollars till may 2018. very misleading

Streaming is the future and more convenient - coming from a man who bought the beatles Blu-ray and owns loads of retro games lol...
I like to collect physical stuff but watch digital and I guess (hope) I'm not alone!

Bluray definitely gets my vote. DVDs can look very soft on modern large screen HDTVs and as we move to 4K sets they will only look worse (as more scaling is needed, which inevitably degrades the image). Bluray is aging far better as it is a much higher resolution to begin with and scaling for 4K is way simpler (4K is effectively just 4x1080P).
If you aren't fussed about PQ might as well just watch them all on Now TV for the price of a months sub (could probably get a free trial as they are usually available). Now TV streaming quality isn't great but I'd say it's about on a par with DVD in general.
Can confirm as I have a 55" 4K set and Blurays still look stunning, DVDs not so much....

I can understand why people think that but its 4 x the resolution so its effectively 2 x horizontal and vertical
so 1920 x 1080 is in fact 3840 pixels × 2160 lines.. so its not really 4x 1080 that would give us 7680 x 4320 which is 8k

2x horizontal and 2x vertical is x4...

Yes 4x the resolution not 4 x 1080p as was said. I did explain it in full if you would like to read it again

I guess it depends how you interpret it. I was equating their message as meaning equal to 4x1080P screens, which it effectively is and the more important thing to note. But if you're arguing about how it's named then yes 4k is not similar to the vertical resolution scaled 4 times which would be 16x the resolution of a 1080P screen. I did also misread your 2nd comment as saying "not 4 x the resolution" for some reason, my bad.

I'd get the Blu-ray set for £15 more, they're not massive upgrades if you already own the decent DVDs, but they are upgrades and well worth £3 more a season.
