Sure, not the greatest cans ever made, no bluetooth and no noise cancelling, but I tried them and was impressed by the sound (beat the MDR1000s and Bose QC25s for my kind of music - at least in demo units). They're £120+ everywhere else at the moment so think this might be a good deal if you don't mind the wire.

If these sound better than MDR1000X, then Sony have a major problem on their hands....

Only a few stores have 1 or 2 in stock. Anyone in Birmingham area, I have got one reserved but can't make it there till next week. Can pass on reservation details.

Order for delivery for few quid extra? I won't be buying as I have the "inferior" Qc25's and Mdr1000x already

What kind of music are you into? Especially with the QC25s I was so impressed by their demo, and when I plugged in my spotify and tried them... very disappointed

Sorry slow reply! Anything and everything. I think personal preference is with the sound signature so maybe not enough bass? Don't get me wrong I like bass in my music too but I can appreciate neutral and detailed as well. Also Qc25 sounds better in ANC mode than passive which might explain why the demo wasn't great if they were turned off. The mdr-1000x on the other hand sounds so complete across the range even used wirelessly so I'm surprised you prefer the mdr100, but horses for courses. Not a criticism.

No worries! Was genuinely curious because I've consistently seen that headphones that are widely regarded as top of the range (probably with a reason) don't sound as good as cheaper models for metal/metalcore. The fact that they're demo units probably plays a big role too as per your point though.
Any thoughts on Sennheiser? I had tried an AMAZING pair but can't remember the model to save my life... I think they were in the £150 range

Sennheiser Amperior, hd25-II or maybe momentum?
Or Hd598, hd650 or hd700?

Sorry for the late reply! Thanks so much, looked these up and they looked like the HD598... now I only need to find a store with lots of Sennheiser models on demo to try them :stuck_out_tongue:

Coincidentally I'm wearing the hd598sr's right now. Shame you missed out on a great amazon deal on them a month back when they were £80 :disappointed:

Ah OK. When I say anything and everything just not metal. Lol. I can absolutely imagine metal would sound q poor through the Qc25. Expensive pairs normally focus on soundstage/separation, detail, vocals, well controlled bass but not thumping. Sennheiser for metal... hmm need to think about that one.
