Don't know why people complain so much you won't get a Samsung S8 for this price, so for people on a low budget this phone will be more than fine

What happens is that app switching is very slow, there hardly being enough memory for 1 app. It helps that the A7 CPU is 32bit.

Almost seems like Mediatek found these old minimal Ram chipsets in the back of a storeroom.

Cold - any android phone with 512Mb of RAM in 2017 is going to end up smashed against the nearest wall within an hour of turning it on. It could be free - it would still be overpriced.
Please people - stretch the extra few quid and get yourself something with at least 2Gb RAM EG - amazon.co.uk/Sma…VQ/
I know this is twice the price - its still crap, but at least you may be able to actually use it!

The MediaTek MT6570 is based on the very very old ARM-A7, no wonder its described as power saving.
Power saving because you will give up and not use it!
I would avoid at all cost unless you want to use it as a toy phone to your child
This deal is fulfilled by amazon. Definitely would recommend more ram for £10 more, but ordering from gearbest from a Chinese warehouse with around 1 month wait is a big disadvantage to fulfilled by amazon

512mb?
That's outrageous
No wonder OP fails to mention it!
1gb is the bare minimum you can get away with in 2017 & even then you can only use it for calls, texts & WhatsApp...& that's about it!

Bought a doogee in a deal that was posted here last year fairly cheaply. The price to buy these phones is good but the battery died so quickly and the replacement battery alone is £70

Really cheap for a spare I guess? Had a few doogee phone sin the past and while they're no Sony they are adequate. Shame you can't use the cheap case promotion at the same time though.
