surprisingly i havnt had a text message or a call from eurocarparts to say that your order is ready for collection.., normally i get a call from them to say this..perhaps they run out of stock..

Would it be more beneficial to spend a little more and buy fully synthetic oil rather than semi? Or is semi-synthetic better for some engines?

Mineral oil has got wildly differing (sized) compounts within it which makes for inconsistent performance (and unpredictable shear strength etc) and a shorter useful lifespan. Synthetic is refined far further, and it's made to an exact spec with consistent chain lengths that performs much more consistently and for much longer. Semi-synthetic is a mix of the two.
Any high performance engine, particularly turbo charged ones of either fuel, really do benefit from fully synth. Mineral oil would be OK for your lawn mower I suppose.
If you've got a regular non high performance non turbocharged engine then many manufacturers will know you can get away with semi-synthetic- but if it's your car, do you want to get away with the minimum possible, or do you want to give the engine the best protection you can (particularly when Mobil 1 fully synth is £23 from Costco permanently, and if you wait for the inetivable Halfords sales you can pick up GM spec fully synth for a tenner for 5L once or twice a year)?

If you do big miles probably better with fully for longevity....if like me you change the oil more regularly than the required service interval semi is more than adequate...I would change my oil around 5000 miles or less....I'm a fan of Mobil,fuchs and millers oils but I've used that particular Shell Helix and it's very good.
