Got these in Ivory, amazing sound, fantastic build and looks. I got them from Cex for £90 out of luck, but they're easily worth their £269 RRP.
Great price for a new set with 2 years warranty

how's the bass? I prefer a bit beffier bass without losing clarity

Not extremely beefy if that's what you're after. Bass is very accurate, with very deep extension. Bass on these have no effect on any of the other instruments at all, at any volume. It's really good.

The Sennheisers have the better more natural sound to my ears. There is nothing that comes close for this price.

I have these and I am very happy with them. I was lucky enough to win them in a competition.
The bass and clarity of the sounds is most impressive for me. Much better than anything I have had before. Not that I have ever spent more than about £50

Will these work with android? If so do they lose certain functionality?

They work with android but the inline remote doesn't function properly. Doesn't bother me. I think you can just buy the android inline cable and swap it over if it's a deal-breaker.

Excuse my ignorance but I am presuming these are wired and not Bluetooth?

Yep, these are wired. Bluetooth are considerably more expensive.

If you ask me - I don't know. Never spent so much on the headphones  best thing is compare reviews on google for both

I haven't tried the Sony ones but I bought these last time they were on offer and they're amazing best headphones I've ever owned.

Really depends on whether or not you can/will use USB/Lightning to connect the Sony's to your phone or player. If the answers 'no' and you'll only use the 3.5mm cable then the chief benefit of the Sony's (the DAC) becomes irrelevant and these may be the better option. If you will use the DAC then the Sony are a no-brainer at the price they're at.
I have the MDR-1A and MDR-1ABT, so it's fair to say I like Sony's headphones, but between these two (and discounting the DAC) the momentum are better built and less bulky. You also wouldn't have to worry about the inbuilt electronics, battery etc of the Sony.
Not going to judge on sound as that's entirely subjective.

The DAC and amplifier circuit on recent iPhones is technically excellent, I wouldn't be surprised if it's on a par/better than the Sony internal DAC
Beyerdynamic.
Lovely headphones but quite difficult to drive the 250ohm versions with an iPhone.
They're also open-backed which might not bother you, but it'll bother everyone else on the bus / in the office

True that about open backed.
But I'm driving the 250 from an iPhone 5S and last gen ipod Nano without difficulty. Quieter than alternative headphones obviously, but it goes plenty loud and is more versatile.
I have to say comparing the output of the iPod/iPhone to the Arcam headphone circuit from their £4000 A49 amp, there isn't a night and day difference in sound quality.
