I have been looking for this TV and £469 was the previous cheapest I have found recently.

Amazing price. I picked up the curved 49" version MU6500 (exact same spec just curved) for £579 just 2 weeks ago, highly reccomend at this price for a non-curved version if curved isn't your thing! 40" might be a little too small for 4K but it would be fine for a bedroom experience.

Hey
I was thinking of getting the following:
Hisense H43N5300 from Argos @£350
How much better is this Samsung over the Hisense?

Anyone comment on the picture quality? I'm guessing this is an entry level 4K?

... What? It's either 4k or not 4k
Picture quality and resolution are two completely different things

Not entirely true . Why do you think there are various versions of the same tv? The mid and high level tv's have better technology, higher nit, less judder etc. If you believe that all 4K TVs are the same why are some £500 and some are £1500???

Yeah when I first quoted him I read it like they was commenting directly about the 4k part of the TV affecting the quality, not the tech inside it.

Accidental damage cover is not the same thing as warranty.

Indeed it isn't. The TV, like all John Lewis TVs, comes with a 5 year guarantee as standard; the accidental damage option is simply an extra you can purchase and not required.

It would be required if you bought it and soon after, you or somebody else damaged it accidentally. Wouldn't that be a bummer? :sunglasses:

It is an option - as is using your home insurance if you have accidental damage as part of that.
But in terms of the comments, it was all about someone saying the accidental damage cover was a warranty - it isn't. The warranty is included free; the accidental damage cover is an extra however you do it.

What's the input lag for gaming?

Review from What HiFi yesterday.
"Finally,
if you’re a gamer you’ll be delighted to discover that the UE40MU6400
has so little input lag in Game Mode (we measured 21.3ms) as to be
entirely imperceptible. If you’re playing on this TV and still losing,
it’s definitely not the telly’s fault."
OK not quite good enough for hard core gamers I guess, but will do for casual gamers like me.
Also found this on Overclockers. Is for last year set the KU version but seems to be a good choice for a 40" monitor instead of paying ransom type figures for a dedicated 4k monitor.
Heat added for this at £429 with the 5 year guarantee.

I ordered this yesterday for £500 and saw the price dropped. Rang up and the said anybody who had purchased within the past 28 days can get the difference refunded.
They said the drop in price is due to Samsung and if they issue for it to be dropped again, you can ring back if you purchased within the previous 28 days.

Any good for using as a 4k monitor, I believe it supports 4:4:4 chroma?

I have this tv and there is no noticeable input lag even with a keyboard and mouse

Price has gone up to £499. Gutted as I was going to buy today. Amazon is still showing as 429 but they only have a 1 year warranty/
