Love SmartThings had it about a year now , yeah it's a bit overpriced over here compared to the US but same with most things now :disappointed: The amount of things you can add to it including cheap Chinese sensors etc is great.

I tried to connect a cheap Xiaomi Motion Sensor directly to SmartThings but couldn't do it... Instructions were in Chinese and very little on Youtube.

The only issues I've had are when the batteries are on their way out, try replacing them and that may fix your issue... ST battery level reporting is rubbish!
This also uses cloud processing for pretty much everything, so if your internet goes down then nothing will work either, this is pretty important / annoying when you have walked in to a dark room and the lights haven't come on by which time you are not near the light switch..
I still think ST is the best out there in the U.K. at the moment, in fact mine automates most of my house, and links to Plex to give a great home theatre experience, but still has some pretty major architecture flaws..

Same price at curry's and you could possibly get quidco/top cash back.
I would agree and you can even use all of them with Home Assistant

I've had mine for over a year. I have mine set up with xiaomi motion sensor and door sensors, Google home and ikea smart bulbs and nest. I followed the guides on the smart things forum. I wouldn't say this would replace a dedicated alarm system. Overall it's useful to have as a central hub but not perfect.
