Damn cheaper then trade in price I paid to Samsung

It was mentioned many times on that thread that you can buy cheaper without needing to trade in an iPhone though. No idea why that got so much heat.

Maybe only way to get rid of an iPhone??

Did you not stack the Samsung trade-in offer with the retailer discount + cashback? It worked out miles cheaper than any other deal on here. Will post a deal once mine has gone through

Does this still come with the Samsung 5 year warranty? Or is it worth paying £13 extra to get it from Samsung?

Apparently Samsung give s8 and s8+ customers 1 free screen replacement.
I don't know where I read it but if you Google it then you may find out more information
H0THEAD to WolverhamptonDealDon
3 Sep 17#15
That's pretty decent if correct. You can smash the screen, (if marked or scratched) get it replaced and maybe sell it on for better price. Just thinking out loud boys...just thinking out loud

If true that's a deal all by itself

Stupid of Samsung not to offer a normal S8 without the edge.
It's the first thing I would disable as nightmare with false touches.
Also as stated above if you break it will cost a small fortune to repair

I have the S7 edge and it's not a problem whatsoever, have you ever actually owned an Edge phone?
jimbo001 to fandyboy

He makes a valid point, I've had the issue, moreso on the S7.
The s8 curve is less 'severe' but still has its problems.

This is very tempting. Holding out for the iPhone 7s or 8 or iPhone X (whichever models come out) Not an iSheep just like my phones to work efficiently.

I second that. Nothing worse than the look of a sore thumb. Especially around the ladies!

Return was made and the only problem being that my wife couldn't take out a contract with Voda for another 3 months (so she didn't), and the statement was made over the phone. And they removed my review on Trustpilot I'm just being an honest HUKD citizen (check my profile) and giving people a heads up.

Well you've successfully put me off man! Very dodgy sounding! I remember my ex housemate had problems with their "security" checks in the past too when he was just buying a handset... even though he had recently been successful for a mortgage and sim free contract!
mrew42 to parasitemol
3 Sep 17#30
Some people may be happy with an open box, but personally it gives me the right hump and gives the the impression of open box returns being flogged on the cheap (and it was a cheap deal) Having said that the delay mean that my Mrs could take advantage of an S8 deal on EE with twice as much data from mobiles.co.uk for little more than the cost of the edge. Posted on here in fact

The two recent cases are probably why he was flagged for attention.
If he had waited a week before attempting a third credit check, he may
have sailed through without any issues.
It would depend on the individual retailer's internal
approval rules though.
You cannot blame a mobile telephone retailer/mobile network
operator for checking if the potential customer can afford the regular payments to the
end of the contract.

Sorry, the recent I mentioned was within 6months or so not weeks. It was quite an unusual thing when buying a sim free handset at the time. This was a few years back mind, I've not tried ordering from them myself.

I've tried it on friends. Try playing bubble shooter and see what happens. Luckily due to discovering this flaw I made sure I didn't own one.
It's not just the edge phones, other very thin bezel phones with a curve edge cause similar problems.
I normally have my phone in a rugged case with a nice chunky edge, so my fingers go nowhere near the screen.
My chubby/short fingers don't help either.
Just saying like the S7 it would have been nice to have the choice with the S8.

Have to agree the edge is useless ,I've had the s7 edge and every flagship device from The s5 onwards but after the screen cracking twice from falling from about 4 inches I got rid and got the I phone 7 plus
Never go back to Samsung as long as the have that daft curved screen that's impossible to apply any screen cover that lasts or actually fits proper

People who get open box the phone has not been used at all !
Company's many actually randomly open devices before being sent out as part of quality control messaure to make sure the stuff they are sending out is as it should be ,and if you read most company's website it actually states this in there terms and conditions.
So don't worry about the open box comments
