If in a hurry this is the cheapest its been for a while. These SSD prices are a killer this year. Dropped by another quid.

People can harp on about it being double what it was last year but I paid £149 from Argos a few weeks ago and did a fresh install on to this drive and it's like a brand new computer. It's the best upgrade I've ever made. I was seriously considering a new computer so this saved me a lot of money and if they come down half price next year I'll buy a 1GB model. Meanwhile this is the cheapest available at the momnent.

If it interests anyone you can get a Crucial MX300 525GB M.2 2280 SATA SSD for £133.19 if you're on prime (here)

Some will manage with with standard hard drive untill we see affordable prices.
Others who need faster speeds will still buy them regardless of the price.

If you don't have an SSD already, you *NEED* to buy one. I don't care what the price is, pick up *any* ssd. It's not worth your time to be stuck on an HDD spinning metal.

Wait a few years and there will be price fixing in the courts.

Aria are doing these at 131 but I think they've been banned from HUKD

£140.xx delivered and as its a SuperSpecial there is no option to collect at store.
I bought half the size for £72 13 months ago. This seems like a great deal to me seeing that the prices over the past year have gone crazy

Just wondering;
I bought this SSD in November 2015 ( almost 2 years ago) for £90 pounds on amazon. Can anyone explain why after 2 years the same drive cost £141.14 and people consider it good price? Thanks for reply.

 There is an issue with the spell checker on the new site at least with Chrome/Windows.You can change to the correct spelling and click save and unless you also edit the quote in another way at the same time it doesn't save the change.

NAND shortages are not expected to ease until Q3 '18, so anything up to 10 months from now. 3D NAND is even more constrained than standard, so drives like this will uptrend well into 2018.
I am pretty sure that if you are likely to need any SSD's in the near future, buy them now, or pay more. Or wait until 2019

samsung is due to release their increased layer nand early next year as they moving away from the evo/pro branding. Not sure if they have gone into risk production yet ..
Not sure whats happened with the others though. That said with tosh selling its nand biz we may just increased capacity from samsung ..

Looks like I'll have to wait for Black Friday again. Last year I missed out on the 750GB Crucial SSDs at £106 each. :disappointed:
Hopefully Amazon will repeat a similar offer this year

To be far SSD's are silly money at the moment so its a valid comment. I wouldnt encourage anyone to pay 140quid for 500gb of storage when 18months ago it was half that. If your desperate for one fair enough, and its worth posting for that. But its still a con

Don't know where it has been half price but camelcamelcamel is showing this drive's all time low Amazon price was only £111, just 20% less, hardly half the price.
