When I was looking last night black and other colours was available, was going to buy it myself but changed my mind and paid £5 more and got the 2016/2017 model instead. Hopefully I didn't make a mistake as I have the old one and I think it's great!

I've never brought a rectified hard drive before or even this brand. Are these good to use for Xbox one storage.

Can these be taken out of the case and fitted into a ps4?

WD portable drives normally have the USB connector soldered directly onto the circuit board; i.e. no SATA

Why do people think its a good idea to buy a recertified drive? There just about useful for backing up your backups

Fine for Xbox one game storage as if anything is lost you can just download again :face_with_monocle:

3tb orange is only £49.99 which seems a decent price. Red is showing as available for me and lets me go through the process of ordering but not paying

Blue, Orange or Yellow left. Would have favoured the Red myself. Where do these recertified drives originate from?

They are almost certainly faulty drives that have been fixed, tested and certified to work again. In some ways this is better as every individual drive has been tested before being (re)sold. Dunno if WD tests every retail drive before sale.
Warranty is shorter so they don't cannibalise their new drive sales. Prices reflect that.

I know there is the usual argument about limited warranty, but hope this helps for anyone who is looking for a cheap drive.

I noticed these lastnight and bought myself 2x 4TB, one white and one black!
Was going to post these myself but I was very tired so went to bed straight after purchasing. So now you get all the heat! Lol
It says it adds to basket as black but goes through checkout as blue
