Tried on my phone, both ports and my phone say it's charging slowly, when plugged straight into 2.1 amp usb port on the car adaptor it says charging quickly. Doesn't seem very smart to me, think I'm going to return it.

got mine yesterday, i plugged in my htc phone to charge and navigate, it didnt charge the phone, i think if you are only using 1 device on this adaptor, you have to use the port nearest to the blue light otherwise it wont charge, i assume when you plug in a second device then the smart technology kicks in and starts charging the second device..i think.. havnet tried it yet lol

Cheers i did try an actual cigarette lighter plug in the thing i bought but it didn't work, so wasn't sure i do have a kettle i think is cigarette lighter need to check that or ill have to run it off the inverter.
If you have a 12v leisure battery this will reduce the 12v to 5v so will be fine

Not 100% sure how cars electronics work i know that the cigarette lighter socket is normally limited less than direct to battery contact so my question is more of if i use this amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1 and plug this in it will it cut down the voltage to the usb ports? or just blow it? might seem like a strange question but i don't have a car i have a leisure battery however.

I have had one of this exact model since December and it really is fantastic. It's great quality, and reassuringly weighty. Only downside is the springs are a little firm so you have to push it in quite hard to ensure it doesn't pop out! But better that than too loose! Wholeheartedly recommend it.

Bought this at £6.99 over a year ago, however the charger didn't work very well for me. I had to do a lot of twisting for it to work and it would only work temporarily. I left a negative review as the previous charger I was using was a £3 2amp charger from Asda which worked perfectly for a number of years. However, my father borrowed the car whilst I was on holiday and lost the charger. I found this as a replacement but didn't work for me. After leaving negative feedback, I was contacted by their customer service who sent me two replacement chargers but a different model. These chargers were much larger. They work well, however my gear stick is very close to the cigarette lighter port and therefore my fingers keep getting crushed by the charger every time I put the car in first gear. I gave my charger to a friend thinking it may have been the port in my car, as my car is 10 years old. However, the charger didn't work at all in his car and his car is only a year old.
I may order this one again or the upgraded version they have which is smaller if this code works on that.

Does this cause interference in radio signals like many other chargers do??
It charges really fast using quickcharge and normal charging.
It charges my S8+ pretty fast whilst navigating at full brightness and streaming Bluetooth music at full volume. As you are probably aware quickcharge only works with screen off on the S8+ (not sure about other devices) so if you are using the phone for screen on navigation whilst on charge the quickcharge function is not used and it drops to normal fast charging (5v / 2.4a).
Obviously with quickcharge and screen off it is much faster. When battery is really low I sometimes turn screen off and just listen to voice instruction for navigation to get a quick power boost between journeys.
I paid £6.50 but at the moment it's £7.99.
