Don't think you'll get a better set of bookshelves for this price. They got a 5 star review from WHF with a price of £150, so at 79 it seems a no brainer to me if you want some speakers for under £100.

They are just so big though. I wanted to wall mount but no chance with their size

Admittedly I only have the 2010 wall mounted but the bracket fits either and I do plan to wall mount these as well when I move the TV. superfi.co.uk/p-2…spx

Sadly my TV is on a really slim wall mount and these would just look odd... aka my missus won't let me.

I have the 2010i paired with a subwoofer, they're much less deep and I can't say I miss whatever middle ground the 2020i would be providing in that situation. Admittedly I haven't compared.

Just phoned,No stock in manchester stores(city centre, prestwich, stockport). However i've been told by a staff from a different branch that they can actually order you one from warehouse and their delivery date is normally Monday,so if u ring up to reseve one and are told none in stock, just ask them to order one from warehouse for you, not every staff will offer this but u just have to ask. At the time of ringing there was 150+ available in warehouse

If ur lookin for stands for under £100, there are loads of options on ebay
Does anyone know whether this set of stands will hold the speakers or not? £19.99 on ebay, item number 371359424060 Many thanks

Absolutely not, I bought them years ago. Wobbly, unable to bear any weight with brittle plastic connectors. Save ur money please

Those stands will not hold these speakers (for a start, there is no mounting point on the back, and these speakers weight a lot more than the small satellite speakers that those stands are designed for).

They'll be passive.

27 Sep 17#32
Thanks  Shame not active, was thinking about a 2.0 set for living room but then need to get an amp on top and that would bumo the price up to 100+. And I already have a 2.0 monitors in office/studio room and like 3 different bluetooth speakers, can't really justify these, even though they look well solid

I really think you would need a sub to go with these, they wouldnt produce much bass..

These are passive - you need an amp to drive them.
Got the 2010s, great speakers - hot stuff

Voted hot, i remember when these came out they were around £200 mark along with the Diamonds and the Dali's.
A friend has them paired up with a marantz and they sound better than my diamond 8.2 paired with a SR10
Would have been a perfect replacement if i had the dosh

To save buying speaker stands, you could buy the Tannoy Eclipse 2 speakers for £99. They sound fantastic.

It does depend on budget, so fair point, but if you want to have a "room feature", Q Acoustics have a huge advantage in that their finish is better than anything else you'll find for probably less than £400-£500.
If you haven't seen them and think I'm exaggerating, just browse around a Richer Sounds store, like I did before I bought. It's almost comical how cheap everything looks in comparison, even the humble 2010i made everything else look like a handyman put them together.

Get some soundstyle z2's, they've won many "best budget speaker stand" awards over the years. I have some for my diamond 9.1's they are very nice and still look like new after around 8 years use.
So you have to phone the store to see if they have them? Bit of a weird way to do business for a large chain isn't it?

Went to the Croydon store and they had them in the shop for £20 more. I showed them the webpage price and they said that it's a warehouse deal, so they needed to check if their local warehouse had them in stock. Fortunately they did so they ordered them for me and they will be in the store for me on Tuesday/Wednesday

OK these or tannoy eclipse two's or Wharfedale DIAMOND 220's.. what would you go for?
Danze1984 to jumpinoffthbed

Wharfedales are slightly better but cost 50% more. I'd go for these to be honest.

Actually the warfedales can be had for 110
TonyNewman
28 Sep 17#45
If the were all the same price I would go for Wharfedale 220's, then these then Tannoys. However at this price these are half the price of the Whatfedale 220's so it's the Q 2020I all the way for me!

Even tho the tannoys were the most expensive originally? The warfedales do get excellent reviews so I'm edging towards them tbh
