With rumours of the PS4 Pro patch likely to drop in the next couple of days, this could be the perfect time to pick this up. Dropped in price at Shopto and the cheapest about, I think

The only thing wrong with this game, is that it makes every other game much less enjoyable... R.I.P

Totally agree. After putting soooo many hours into this, I'm yet to find a game that even comes close to it.

Wonder what the patch will be like, hoping for 1080p 60fps much more than some crappy ever so slightly increased resolution, one thing's for sure this game won't be running native 4k on the ps4 pro even at 30fps

Heat added. Fantastic find OP!
I actually preordered this game when it came out in May 2015, paid £35 on Amazon, and then bought the 2 DLC expansions separately at full price when each came out, and you know what, worth every penny and more. This game is hands down one of the finest action RPG's ever made, and the massive number of industry awards it's picked up is proof of that.
At this price, it's a no brainer. If you haven't yet played this game, do yourself a favour, and get it!

Even the DLC is reasonably priced. This game puts Other games to shame. 100s of hours of gameplay straight out the box. No buying extras. It's how games should be. Not a 8 hour single player campaign.

I put this game on hold when I first heard of the 4k patch.
Even if it's checker board it'll be a nice experience. Just a shame I first heard about the update 2 months ago.
Only managed to find interest in a couple of other games since.
Glad to be getting back into witcher 3 when the patch drops.
Hopefully there is a 1080/60 mode along side a 4k/30 and may be a 1080/30 higher detail. So we got a choice.

It took me 2 tries to get into this game.
First time around I tried on Xbox one and just wasn't for me. But second time around I really gave it ago, the open world, quests and customisation is really decent.
Combat is rather basic, but does the job. Feel the combat is the only true let done to the game.

Its is as good a gaming experience as you can expect. Quality wise it similar to products made by Bethusda and Bioware products.
If you like these types of rpg then you wont be disappointed.

I didn't like the second game, am I likely to enjoy this one?

Found controller support on witcher 2 terrible. I've barely played #2 due to that reason.
This one I was really enjoying. Not a large fan of sitting about through dialogue sections though.

it was mainly the lack of tutuorials, I felt a little thrown in at the deep end. How's the combat in this one?

From what I remember (it was 2 months back). Has a lock on system, has normal attacks and strong attacks, believe there is a dodge and block button. And a button for spells. (Minds pretty hazy on the details).
It's smooth but tad basic.

Definitely, second game ain't anywhere near the quality of this. It's not just the best Witcher game it's one of the best action rpgs of all time.

How's the combat feel? I found the other two games to be a bit too "floaty" to enjoy.

It's principles are much the same as the second game but in my view the combat is a lot better and feels smoother and faster.

Got the original I'd say the only let down is both save files are different... Don't really want to start all over again when I've put like 40+ hours into it

£17.09 at CDKeys if you use their Facebook code. It has been cheaper from there (around £14.99) depending if you wish to wait for another drop

Pretty much echoing everybody else here, but if you haven't played this game - BUY IT NOW!! Incredible price for an RPG genre bench marker. Haven't been so impressed by an RPG since... maybe FFX??

Please please please let the patch be a good checkerboard 4K and HDR.... 60fps is probably asking too much.

In my opinion no, whilst not intensely graphic you will see limbs chopped off and liberal use of the f word. Having said that the PEGI 18 rating is silly.
