REAL CARS
The latest road vehicles from around the world modelled to unprecedented precision in Gran Turismo history. You might think that from its name that Gran Turismo Sport is dedicated to competition models, but there are plenty of exciting production vehicles in the mix to cater to all driving enthusiasts. Each vehicle has been recreated in remarkable detail, from the internal structure of the headlights to the gaps between the body panels and the stitching of the seats. We have strived to instil the passion of the car designers themselves who brought these cars to life from the sketch pad. The full lineup consists of 140 vehicles, including original cars.

Just a word of warning, they have removed the traditional GT single player mode. So you can't buy a little banger and work your way up through cups and leagues as you could in previous titles. Single player is ONLY racing techniques and challenges.

Looking at the car list, most of the cars are slightly different iterations of the same car anyway, so the number of entirely unique car is even smaller again. Didn't realise this was another glorified demo like Prologue was. Not sure why it takes Polyphony Digital so long. I'm considering getting an Xbox again, because Forzas was always more fun than GT anyway, plus always has a great soundtrack.

150 decent varied cars is far better than 700 variants that Forza peddles. Gran turismo is also a proper racer, Forza is a toy arcade racer. Very different games for different audiences. Gran turismo is for your discerning gamer, and it's a day one purchase for me.

Have the ai improved in gt yet? That and no mechanical damage in career killed the other games for me (not to mention horrendous tearing and frame rate issies ) and lets not even talk about non premium cars from gt4 off ps2  . Imo forza or pcars is the better complete game and assetto corsa a better sim. Sadly not looking forward to GT any more despite not being a bad price (not voting cold tho)
May pick up in a bargain bin

WOW. For some reason in my head this would have 400 cars in it.
I thought forza had 500 or something...
maybe I am indeed making all this up.

cheers yeah that's woefully small that....
"The following is a list of cars which currently appear in Gran Turismo 5. At time of press there are 1074 cars included in the game, including 43 from DLC Packs and updates and the prospect of more to be added at a later date"
Gran Turismo 5 had 1074!
Something cant be right you don't go from 1074 to 150....

I believe they're binning off all of the non-premium models from GT5, so only retaining ones which have modelled interiors etc, and even then, they're only retaining the more "sport" focused models, so no longer will you have the "joy" of racing Daihatsu Moves and Nissan Qubes around Asda's car park.
Considering the length of time the game has been in development for, it looks very light on content TBH.

Makes sense.
I looked up GT 6 and that had 1400... And Forza 7 has 700.
even with super duper interiors 140 seems too low....
especially if I cant use the Daihatsu Moves and the Asda track have been removed

There were about 350 copies of the same 10 Japanese cars though (circa 50 Skylines!!), so there was a hell of a lot of padding in that 1074.

GT Sport is to GT7 what GT5 Prologue was to GT5.
ie. something for people to play the s**t out of until the big daddy version drops!
Polyphony Digital are notorious for taking their time between releases. This shouldn't surprise any long term fans of the series. It still sells in the many millions each time one comes out
(Including me, who turned up late for work one day because I was playing GT5 until 3am)
