Ok, shelf price of this yummy popcorn, big 90g bag, is £1.59 at Tesco.
IMPORTANT EDIT GUYS!
THE YELLOW PACK ( SWEET AND SALTY) SCANS AND APPEARS ON THE RECEIPT EXACTLY THE SAME - POPCORN £1.59
The blue ( salted) does not. Not tried the others.
Sainsbury's are selling for £1
I constructed a Tesco brandmatch, receipt in pic.
So I paid £1 per bag at the till.
Checkoutsmart are giving £1 per bag cashback ( when bought from Tesco)
up to 12 bags
= totally free popcorn!
* buy 9 other DIFFERENT BARCODED items
I bought single veg items and some 10p sweets

My guess would be that the offer was restricted to the first x amount of claims after which the deal gets pulled?
Shame, was quite looking forward to a dozen bags of cheap/free popcorn! :disappointed:

Your link goes to a post that was posted 5th sept at 8.36pm. I bought my popcorn on 5th sept at 6.25pm. I never saw the mse posting, if I had I would have credited in the op. Regardless, I had already bought my popcorn at 6.25pm on the 5th, and that was posted after that. It's more likely they saw my post on here, for which, I don't mind.

That's exactly what I worry about with these things, buying all this stuff then getting stuffed over when the brand match doesn't work for whatever reason. Trying to explain it to staff would be like pulling teeth I guess and you'd be out of pocket.

Yes Neilc. See the example shopping lists, receipts and the link I posted earlier for Toonah. If you need your big shop, put that through separately. If you look at your results, they will have accounted fully for the popcorns, but you'll also have bought some thinks that were cheaper than sains, and brandmatch averages it out. So, if you buy 10 popcorns that are 59p cheaper in sains, but also buy another 10 items that are 59p cheaper in Tesco ( for example) you end up with zero :disappointed:
Always stick to a total of 10 different barcodes ( regardless of number of items) and safest is the single fruit and veg or 10p sweets

6 Sep 17#68
D'oh, virgin brandmatcher here! I did a big shop and added 12 bags of popcorn but the discount only came to 90p.
Is that because I bought too many other items - some of which were cheaper than at Sainsbury's?

I won't be beaten by tesco! They're rapidly becoming a hated supermarket. Nearest one 30mins away...nearer is 2 x tesco expresses, hate them. This was the last hope for tesco with me and it's falling! Hehe

I did another popcorn shop today, Toonah, no 10p sweets there, so I got a banana, a carrot, an onion, a potato, a gala apple, a pink lady apple, a golden delicious apple, a Braeburn apple, an orange, and a tangerine. ( 11 items in total with the popcorn, I went over, lol) Maybe no help to you now lovely, but keep for future reference.

6 Sep 17#65
No 10p sweets in my store. And it done price match...it said I saved 49p...I had 6 of the pop corn... the person at the counter said was the popcorn on offer in sainsburys as then it wouldn't count. I said I had a friend that did it and got it reduced. That's when they switched to saying "dunno...ask at customer services". Did that, she had no idea. As it's meant to be automatic she couldn't help. Boo

6 Sep 17#64
Toonah, ohh, you just need to keep it simple... the popcorn as item 1) , single fruit and veg, 10p sweets. Total of 10 different barcodes.
Here you go, enter the numbers from bottom of receipt, you get a results table similar to the Asda one: secure.tesco.com/bra…tee

Unfortunately not a Yay... no idea why but tesco price match didn't work on it. Got a mass of things... 95% wasn't tesco branded...didn't work. Was picking non tesco branded things and cheap things...the staff said "was it on offer in sainsburys?" I said I didn't know but know a friend got some and it reduced the price. She shrugged me over to customer services. Customer services didn't know why it didn't work and couldn't help me. Annoyed but sod it by then. Mission fail for me!

To qualify, you'll need at least 10 Different Products, including one
Comparable Branded Grocery Product in your basket. For example, if you
buy 9 different unbranded fresh vegetable products and one bag of
Cadbury Bitsa Wispa 110gm then your basket will qualify for Tesco Brand
Guarantee. However, if you buy 6 different unbranded fresh vegetable
products, three cans of Heinz baked beans 415gm and one bag of Cadbury
Bitsa Wispa 110gm, your basket will not qualify as you have bought three
identical products meaning your basket does not have 10 Different
Products.

Fantastic find - just bought roughly the same (but 12 packs of the Propercorn) so Brand Guarantee deducted £7.08 + will get the £12 back from Checkoutsmart. A few sweets for the kids, Snickers for me & veg for the household. Can't go wrong Just a word of caution though - before you buy them check that they are still on offer elsewhere or you won't get the Brand Guarantee from Tesco! HEAT ADDED :sunglasses: I was also surprised to see you still get 20 clubcard points for the 20.94 spend and not the net price 13.86 actually paid!

juggler1 to dawkins11
6 Sep 17#34
Yes, you'll need 10 different barcoded items , regardless of how many of each of those items you buy- if buying 10p sweets, for example, you couldn't get 6x the 10p refresher bars, as that would only count as ONE barcode.

6 Sep 17#32
Worth mentioning that there is a 5% fee on withdrawals under £20 to PayPal/bank from Checkoutsmart. So if you want to avoid paying that, you will be waiting some time for enough free stuff to get a fee-free withdrawal.
juggler1 to sc14
6 Sep 17#33
That's not actually the case- , that you'd be waiting some time- I got £11 from the popcorn, and £9+ , to get me over £20 ( withdraw funds without paying the 5%) since 3rd August: Cider from Morrisons, (£1.50) 2x cider from One Stop, (£4.30) 2x fire and smoke chicken from co-op, (£2.50) Hovis from Sainsbury's (£1.25). All of those were total freebies from this brilliant app. The £20s build up very quickly.

I'm new to checkout smart, literally just signed up so I can't try get this offer.. So I'm on the page with the popcorn and it says in the t&cs it can only redeemed once per offer period.. what does this mean?
Toonah to LeahsMintytoutou
6 Sep 17#30
I'm not sure if it's different for new users, but above that T&C, and above the red button that says "click here", there is a button which says "save" (if you want to save an offer you like). Just above that, on mine, it says "Claim up to 12 times". That section is to the right of where it says "£1 cashback" on the left. It may be that it only does 1 for new users, but might not... check in case :relaxed:

Buy the popcorn, and 9 other DIFFERENT ITEMS. With DIFFERENT BARCODES. Very important to get 9 other diff items, regardless of how many bags of this popcorn you buy. Safest, and cheapest way is-
Single carrot ( smallest)
Single banana ( smallest)
Single onion ( smallest)
6 x different 10p sweets.
If you can see my receipt in the op, if you buy exactly the same, you can see I paid £11.70, and just confirmed £11 back from checkoutsmart. Yay

by constructing a brandmatch , you only pay £1 at the till, as the Tesco till matches the price at Sainsbury's of £1. Details in the op, but you need to buy this popcorn (up to 12 packets) and 9 other DIFFERENT BARCODED items. As you can see from my receipt, the till automatically takes off 59p for each packet, making them £1. Then claim back £1 a packet off checkoutsmart. = free
