I can only imagine how cheap these look and feel *shudders* I'm waiting for the LG V30 to reveal a release date and price.

Actually from the reviews on youtube its quite a premium feel. Definitely worth a punt at that price, especially as it's stock android and no bloatware (bar 3 xiaomi apps), midrange processor and a decent camera for the price. The LG V30 will be triple the price at least and are not comparable

HaHa....I'm assuming you've never experienced a Xiaomi phone? But by all means keep getting ripped off buying "brands' in the UK...

I would never rule out getting one, i just imagined it to be cheap looking. However if i'm wrong then it looks like a great phone for a great price. Question is when will they start doing edge to edge screens.
I think i am right in saying Xiaomi were the first to release a almost bezel-less phone in the Mi Mix and others then followed they are officially announcing the Mi Mix2 on the 11th of September also believed to be bezel-less so watch this space

This is pretty much a more polished version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4...
You are paying about £60-70 more just to have a twin lens camera and pure Android.
I am very surprised considering this is using pure Android, they have not added NFC, as Android Pay is pushed by Google very heavily these days.
I couldn't be happier with my Redmi Note 4, even though not pure Android, I am getting near monthly security updates and continuous updates of the MIUI software.

No, you're also paying for a significantly better build quality and materials.
The build quality on the snapdragon note 4 is garbage. They skimped hard compared to the solid metal build of the mediatek note 4. And no one wants that awful chip either.
You're also getting usb c, which is always a massive plus.

Why is USB C such a massive plus?

So smaller battery, but big improvement in camera and the android improvements.... Plus fast charge via type c cable that note 4 doesn't have right?
Love my note 4 still looking at this for my dad.

It's literally better than the upcoming Moto G5S Plus in every way. It even has USB Type C.
I think I'm going to get this. Looks like it has Band 20 support to boot.

I bought for the wife a G5S plus dual sim from amazon italy (shipped to UK). Every once in a while they list the price around 250 euro which is a good price. Shipping was about 5 euro. As of now seems like a solid phone. Fast, nice screen, dual sim etc. Camera outside works fine. inside (low light) seems that it needs time to focus , but perhaps i had to many settigns on. I have it only for 3 days so early to tell. overall good deal [i have an eu credit card to so no conversion charges for me]

Yes quite right but thats what you pay direct from Xiaomi or a Xiaomi store to buy it for the uk you got to go through the third party sellers like aliexpress, gearbest, banggood who are always going to mark it up considering this a £15 mark up is pretty good normally more like £40-£50 initially then gradually coming down

Been waiting for over a month for Amazon or John Lewis to have the G5s Plus as I was intending on getting that after the death of my Nexus 5X, still not officially released.
Ordered the A1 last night, seller lists it as global version with band 20 so will find out in 3 or 4 weekswhen it arrives. Lenovo/Motorola can do one.

There is a global version that will be fully compatible with the uk here is the official tech specs mi.com/en/…cs/ if you scroll down to connectivity and open up network bands you will see it has Lte band 20. Now there is also a Indian version and here are the official specs for that mi.com/in/…cs/ and do the same as above you will see it does not have Lte band 20. You just have to make sure which version the seller is selling

No there is a Indian version according to this site mi.com/in/…cs/ if you open the network bands there is no band 7 or 8 or 20 only bands 1 , 3 , 5 i dont know why my previous links are not working the phone is identical except for the band support

I would message the seller to confirm band 20 support before buying as the first batch to go on sale on the 12th Sept are mainly for the Indian market and i dont think band 20 is required there that is not to say it wont have band 20 but other Xiaomi phones for the Indian market did not have band 20 support. There will be a version with band 20 as it is to be sold in the Taiwan market
