Estimated shipping date was 27th Sep, however it changed today to "OUT OF STOCK" I had a chat with banggood agent and that's what she said:
I apologize for the inconvenience caused. items of your order are out of stock, will be restock around 10/19
Would it be OK for you to wait until that date? Or would you rather cancel your order?
Not sure what to do now...

I Bought an Xiaomi phone last year, battery packed up after 9 Months, trying to get it sorted was a long and lengthy process which took Months. Scary really if you are paying Hundreds of Pounds to a Chinese based company makes it a lot more difficult to deal with repairs refund etc
Not sure what you're hoping to accomplish though? Are you suggesting that people shouldn't consider a Xiaomi phone because you had a problem? They sell millions and having defects in any mass produced product is common for anything, not just electronics. Even then, if you bought it last year it's a different phone to any of the ones you've been commenting on recently. I can only imagine how many Samsung threads you'd be commenting on if you had have bought a Galaxy Note 7 instead

There are real potential problems when purchasing
from China
based company’s my comment is factual, fair and informative.

If the issue is potential problem with China based companies then how come I haven't noticed your comments on any other Chinese phone thread, besides Xiaomi? I'll ask again, "are you suggesting that people shouldn't consider a Xiaomi phone because you had a problem?" or are all deals from the likes of AliExpress, Gearbest, Banggood etc off limits because "there are real potential problems when purchasing from China based companies"?

Do you honestly think people don't know this? I guess at the end of the day it's all about how risk averse you are or the question is how much is a warranty worth? I would be interested to know what phone you have now and how much you paid for it. You literally cannot get anything like the spec here from the major brands for anything approaching this money.

I have used banggood to buy my Mi6 was the first time i had used them i used the free air parcel registered delivery took 15 days from placing the order to the phone being in my hands, came well packaged no customs to pay tracking worked after 3 days from dispatch email there was a lull in the tracking from it leaving Hong Kong to it arriving in Uk of about 7 days then it came up on royal mail tracking 3 days later and arrived the following day what i liked about them was that they have a banggood order tracking problems and solutions forum where you enquire about your order and they reply i used it during the lull in the tracking i had a answer 24hrs later reassuring me everything was on track here is link to forum have a read through it forum.banggood.com/for…=78

I have bought tons of stuff from Chinese companies and still do. Things take a little longer to deliver and return (if needed) that's all. I have never been hit with import duty, and although sometimes long winded the RMA process is very good. To the point that taking a few pictures and adding a few explanations of issues, normally obviates the need to actually send anything back at all for a full or partial refund (partial - if you have had the item for a year or more).

I've not got anything yet from China but will be getting a xiaomi phone when the right deal turns up. But is there any specific tips for not getting import tax like the type of shipping or something? Obviously I'm a good citizen and I'd pay tax with no qualms but if I'm not asked them I'm not gonna request to be taxed.

Always use the standard shipping it takes longer to arrive about 2-3 weeks but very unlikely to get picked up by customs not guaranteed but you would be unlucky if it did. Never use expedited ( DHL and such ) unless you want the phone quicker you will have to pay customs at 20% vat on the declared value ( most Chinese suppliers put a lower value on the declared value so probably wont be the full amount ) also the delivery company will charge about £12 for paying the customs on your behalf. Always pay with paypal if possible gives you extra protection if anything goes wrong

Just ignore him, some people expect UK treatment from China come on. I have bought that Xiaomi deal for the note 4 from ali express. Sure its taken 2 weeks and its in the air between China and UK. At least the tracking has been informative albeit a bit slow. If you get 1 year from a ton phone youve got your moneys worth you was only 3 months off that. Take the hit put it down to experience. If you bought a samsung galaxy note 8 for 900 then you have the right to cry.
