Well, this looks like a cracking deal, includes roaming, and is a rolling monthly contract. the only downside appears to be the lack of Short SMS support which may not suit everyone. I'm just finished 12 months with Vodafone and this seems like a very good deal to me.

I did this deal last month. One thing to be wary of is if you are porting a number over from another provider then make sure after the port has completed fully that you can still get a data connection. Mine worked fine on before it was ported then nothing. All the vpn settings were correct but it seems that something happens whilst port which just stops your data connection. I went on the plusnet forums and the first person I spoke to arranged for a new sim to be sent out after not managing to help me solve the issue. Then another plusnet guy messaged me and managed to sort it out for me. Apart from that minor inconvenience I've had no problems. Calls, texts & data working fine. Good 4g speeds as well.

Yeah because for some reason I only had a 3G signal with Tesco but now with Plusnet I'm getting 4G. I have a better deal all round with Plusnet.

Yeah we moved from tesco too. Telefonica who own O2/tesco is a very poor network. Would would believe that years ago 02 was exclusive for iPhones lol

Short codes that people use (banks, competitions) - usually 5 digits long, rather than regular mobile numbers. They don't support them either receiving from or sending to. A lot of the new/cheap deals seem to have decided to ditch this option (Sky, Smarty are others) I mention it, as some people might want this capability
And.... ? It's an unlimited minutes plan :unamused:

That's, not what WIFI calling does.
Say you're in your home and you get no signal, you're screwed. If you have WIFI calling enabled on your phone and your provider supports it, you will use your broadband connection and will be able to make/receive calls as normal.
It has nothing to do with calling for free or whatever you think it is.

I know what WIFI calling is although I've never had it or used it myself, not had a phone that supports it. I rely on the service provider to ensure good signal coverage and I use voip in the home instead of my landline as calls are cheaper. But I can see the benefit of it for some. Thanks

Switched last month .. Porting my number took two texts and happened on the day they said it would, setting a data cap was a doddle through the web log in .. I have been in the same room as users on EE and we couldn't tell the difference in speed ..
Things have come a long way and I'm genuinely impressed .. Even calling up was quick
Roam like at home as been a real excuse for many providers to massively hike the charge for calling out of the UK but PlusNet seemed on the fairer side ..
Oh and a I work for another provider and this was a better deal than I could get from even them..

I'm a current Plusnet SIMO customer and I've managed to just upgrade my existing contract to this one!
As for the comments regarding speed, I haven't seen any evidence of throttling the speeds and I've also been checking this with the OpenSignal app regularly.
Hot for me!!

Max I've got is 26.11Mbps. I think that's excellent given the theoretical vs actual reported here.

"Slow" 4G is up to 30Mbps.
Enhanced or Extra, or whatever some networks call it, unlock the speed to 60Mbps, for a price.
LTE Advanced isn't available everywhere but technically can do up to 400Mbps.
I've got 75Mbps Fibre at home, and I download and stream A LOT, and it's overkill. If someone tells you they need 60Mbps on their phone, they're [probably] mental :grin:

Problem is with providers who use EE network, EE restricts them to low speed. Like 20-25bmps.
While if you buy directly from EE, its more expensive but u get 4 times the speed. Best to haggle with EE directly to get a cheap deal.

Great deal and voted hot. Been with Plusnet for a few months now and currently on the £8 3gb plan. Don't really need more than this so no point changing. Very happy with Plusnet customer service and their online chat is very helpful.
