I purchased this multimeter, although not much information are available about this meter, which looks similar to the PM890D and PM18.
The PM890D board inside the PM18 has good protection and is of reasonably good quality as per this youtube teardown video (I suspect the PM890C board would be the same, but feel free to buy the PM890D for about £18 if you prefer):
This is a great deal, heated for what it is. Could someone with an awareness of these things kindly point me to a similar decent meter but with the autoranging function?

I would recommend the auto-ranging VC99 (Fluke clone) which has been going strong for the past 4 years (the measurements are quite reliable) - it costs about £20 on Ebay and £25 on Amazon: amazon.co.uk/Aut…h=1

The circuit board has better protection than my Vichy VC99 (Fluke clone), which has served me well fixing numerous electronic equipment.
It can find live wire beneath plaster, which is useful when drilling:
But, don't expect too much for £13.50 ;).
