Crud. Wife only purchased the iZettle on offer last week. Same charges but would have prefered PayPal. Oh well.

izettle better as their charges reduce to 1% with £40k per month.

Yes, I'm sure mamy people buying into this offer are receiving over 40k a month...!! IMO, Paypal is better for many, as Joe Public happier shoving their card into a device that is a least a known name. I know my customers are.

Given that most people daily "shove" their cards into something labeled "ingenico", which almost nobody recognises, I'm not convinced that people are put off by izettle at all.
I've not had a single person even comment on it.
Both are excellent products relative to the world of merchant accounts and terminal rental contracts that are the alternative.
As ever, to each their own.

Nobody recognises ingenico? They are the biggest supplier of chip and pin terminals in the world.

I got the sum up reader from staples delivered today £22.80 with their free delivery code 299000312.
Download the PayPal here app and in the top middle you can do customer not present.
With customer not present you will need proof that the item was sent and delivered.
Fees are higher

Doesn't seem to be an issue from the T&Cs, but...

If you are looking for personal payments you could get people to send you a paym payment via their UK banking app. The payment gets sent instantly to your UK bank account.

paypal, used to be a decent service. But in the last few month there service has become unusable. Limiting peoples account. Asking you to forfilll criteria to make it a better service, But they ask unreasonable information, like full bank statements they have no right to ask for. After all that is resolved which will take some time, as they change the goal posts, and ask for more. After that is done, they will resume your account. But all of functionality you used it for, has now been corrupted for ever. Think twice about you should really bother with this and them.

This is great to carry round so that you can collect money instantly off people who owe you money. As Jill Tyrrel always said...better to settle up straight away, otherwise it gets nasty.

Yes but a baseball bat is a cheaper item to carry around for collecting money instantly off people who owe you money.

Hey guys. Question. The fee as determined by the monthly transaction amount (under 6k, 6k-15k,15k-55k), does that include what you regularly do via PayPal? Or is it separate?

cheaper with izettle, Machine usually £25 and rates at 1.75% flat rate (cheaper if you have a high turnover)
Mister_Whippy
25 Sep 17#35
These machines are great if you take up to around £1700. Anything above that figure (Granted the fees are reduced) it’s cheaper to have a general card machine as the rates combined with the terminal rental work out a lot better.
If you’re a market trader or take payments on the go which don’t add up to much, this is a great alternative. I’d also suggest iZettle as PayPal is horrendous to deal with.

If people want to just collect money from their friends then why not just get them to send you money via PayPal?
You only need their PayPal email address, enter amount and press send.
There are no fees for that service and the balance can instantly be transferred to your bank account.
It's the method I use when receiving and sending money to my family and friends

Wait till paypal freeze your account for silly reasons and hold your money for 6 months . Sounds a good idea until the thieves at paypal freeze your account and they dont even listen to you i had mine restricted even though i was selling official products . They will not even accept they are wrong at all .

Or is this a cheaper way than normal Paypal seller fees?
There are none of the usual fees you might associate with e.g. eBay and Paypal.
