Panasonic's EX600 brings the beautiful realism and colour of the 4K HDR picture into the modern home. Hyper-detailed 4K Ultra HD resolution blends seamlessly with HDR and the brand's Wide Colour Phosphor tech for a stunningly authentic picture of glorious richness, depth and clarity. The Firefox Smart Platform keeps you connected with a wealth of online apps and content. And the innovative switch stand is designed so you can customise the look of the set to fit your home. It's a super sophisticated home entertainment hub, geared for basking in the colour brilliance of 4K HDR.
More Colour, More Depth with 4K HDR Panasonic are one of the forerunners of colour-boosting High Dynamic Range (HDR). As members of the UHD Alliance, they've delivered top-quality HDR with staggering contrast and colour depth. This means that there’s a greater colour range to deepen your view and show shades you’ve never seen in home entertainment before. Usually, studios are forced to dilute the colour of their shows and films to fit on our TVs. Now, HDR screens like the EX600 can channel content from studio-to-living room with the same precision and utterly otherworldly hues. 4K HDR technology achieves beautiful, stunningly realistic images accurate to the original director's intention.
Beautifully Pin-sharp 4K Picture To respond to screens getting bigger, brands have packed their screens with more pixels. This 49-inch screen has four times the number of pixels than 1080p HD TVs, delivering stunning realism, natural motion and incredible detail. Experience this high-spec picture across a range of broadcasts, movies, sports and more thanks to 4K upscaling. As it converts lower resolution content to near-4K quality, anything you watch on the big screen will be truly extraordinary. Furthermore, this panel has a 1300 Hz refresh rate so high-octane action like sport plays back seamlessly.
Wide-ranging, Accurate Colour Backed by special Wide Colour Phosphor Technology, this set has a wider colour spectrum that gives images tantalising tone. Covering over 90% of the DCI (Digital Cinema Initiative) standards, you’ll be treated to a more natural and subtly-hued display. Together with Panasonic’s Advanced Colour Processing, the EX600 works to deliver deeper blacks that retain the detail of dark scenes, for an outstanding picture quality.
Freeview Play This Panasonic TV features Freeview Play. Combining catch-up TV, on-demand services and live television, watching what you want, when you want, is now easier than ever. It’s free from subscription and is compatible with existing broadband services too. Services such as BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5 are also available without having to open specific applications. This gives effortless scroll back so you never miss a second of your favourite shows.
Intuitive Smart Platform Powered by Firefox OS, ‘my Home Screen 2.0’ provides quick and intuitive access to the content you want. With regular updates, it will ensure that you stay on track with all the latest technology developments and content. Use a variety of apps from the EX600’s customisable home screen. Cloud services let you easily use fully-fledged, large-data games and a wealth of content services, so you can quickly switch over from watching TV to playing games, and it's compatible with Netflix, Amazon Video and Youtube.
Art & Interior Switch Design Framed by a black & silver bezel edging, this set has a handsome and sleek design. And the innovative Switch stand means you have four choices of stand design, in one. Switch just to refresh the look of the TV, fit with the decor, or make room for other AV equipment.
Perfect partners With TVs getting slimmer and built-in speakers getting smaller, choosing the right sound system is more important than ever. Soundbars enhance your TV’s sound quality and add that extra audio punch to all your movies, games and TV programmes. More affordable and easier to set up than a full size speaker system, they don’t compromise on quality either.
Is this any good this year? The DX600 last year was pretty dire for the price, I think it might even have been a vestel collaboration.
Panasonic's 700+ models are great, but I'd want to see this one in the flesh before buying.

Don't bother mate its junk. It might as well be a Vestel.
Panasonic really only have one semi passable LCD in the 2017 range and its the EX750 and even then the Panasonic rep in John Lewis tried to tell me that the EX750 is a better TV than the DX902! I told him to go away and behave himself. The EX750 has a premium price tag and a crappy 550 nit peak brightness. If you can find it the only Panny LCD worth buying is the DX902. Its the best LCD on the market even though its 2016 tech.

What complaint would you level against the EX700? I found the DX700 pretty comparable to the competition and the reviews of the 2017 E variant have been positive.
550cd/m² is plenty of brightness for normal use. You only need more for HDR, and we're years away from that being more than a small minority of viewing. Panasonic and LG's decisions to focus their HDR efforts on OLEDs seem perfectly reasonable ones.
Ev0lution to EndlessWaves

Well I would disagree. But there is nothing intrinsically wrong with the EX700 other than it is overpriced for what it is.
It seems very much with the class of 2017 LCDs that all the big manufacturers with the exception of Sony (who really dropped the ball with the whole Android fiasco in the 2016 range so it couldn't really get any worse) have brought out LCDs that are not as good as last year's offerings. Samsung are particularly guilty of this as none of them even come close to the KS7000/8000/9000 range yet go for a similar price.
In the end it really boils down to how much you are willing to spend and how soon do you want your TV. Wait till Black Friday and you will get plenty of deals as they try to shift as much of their junk stock as they can.
Of course you can always go all in and go OLED but thats a story for another night.

You seem to be quite knowledgeable on the topic. Could you recommend a 40-43 inch 4k hdr tv preferably under £500 mostly for watching tv and playing xbox one s?
Ev0lution to slawziom
7y 25d#17
Probably the Samsung 40MU6400 for £500. Personally, I'd go for the Sony 43XE7073 but that's above your budget at nearly £600.
Good luck on whatever you buy though. I'm sure if you go for the Panny 600B it will be absolutely fine.

I have the dx802. It’s a cracking panel and I’ve come straight from a pioneer Kuro. Having seen the 902 and spoke to panny dealers, there isn’t enough difference between the two models to justify the extra price tag. My mate has a DX750 and loves it. No TV is without issues, I suppose it depends on how much you’re willing to spend. It’s easy to get caught up on nits, 8 bit 10 bit etc etc. All that matters is you’re happy with what your eyes can see on your telly. I’ve tried loads of different content on mine including HDR, have no complaints, and have barely had to touch the settings.
