There's only pin caps in my house unfortunately.
Ah...yes of course such a thing exist. Would prefer a light bulb that fits but that might do the job. Plus, I'll have an excuse to go to IKEA again

Ordered one myself and brother ordered too. Hoping they're decent lights and the app to turn on/off the light is actually useable and not just a gimmick.

They are more than decent, plenty bright, great range of whites and colours, and solidly built. You'll use all the features more than you thought. And the app is very usable. At first I thought these were another pointless gimmick, but It's a pleasant surprise to be able to adjust the lighting according to your mood/need/time of day without going near a light switch. They can obviously still be switched on and off at the wall, and will remember a default setting or your last setting. Does anyone really need this in their lives? Maybe not, but at under £10 why not.

I think he was referring to the lights getting hacked, as they are connected to Chinese servers, and getting into your home network. A possibility.

yep you can dim them in the app on a slider (up and down) and ajust the colour temperature of them swiping left and right

I love using Alexa for these (obviously!) but the yeelight app is brilliant. You can sweep thru every colour under the sun, get it to fade thru diff colours and there's even a fab option where you can take a pic of ANYTHING and it changes to that colour!! We've had mum colour, tshirt colour, carpet colour, various children colour, dog colour. Great fun but also a great tool if you want it to match a room or theme

£2.45 a rip off! They're 2 for £1 in Ikea, or 6 for £6 on ebay. Probably easily found on highstreet in poundland, etc too.

They do work with Alexa. I have a few of these at home and 3 Alexas and they work like a dream - really good. They also work with IFTTT if you want more automation.

If i put in the bathroom and it's not switched on for a day or 2, will it lose it's link to the modem?
e4kenndr to InTheKnow444
4 Sep 17#28
Yes obviously you'd lose the wifi connection when u cut the power to it, having said that, they have a memory and can remember either the last state you used them in when they power back on, or you can set them in the app to turn on to a certain state - eg default white when first turned on.
Give it 30 seconds and they'll reconnect back into your wifi netweork when you turn them on anyway.
Or you can always turn them on and off from the app if you want them always connected, maybe tie your bathroom cord up so people dont accidentally turn it off? lol

Keep seeing these posted, Now I'm intrigued.
How do these compare to the LIFX bulbs. Of course, they are quarter the price)

4 Sep 17#27
I have a few of these and love them, the LIFX ones are SLIGHTLY brighter i think, but the Xiaomi ones certainly aren't dull by any means.
Considering the price difference there's no competition tbh, I'd pick Xiaomi

I used 4 email address but paid via the same paypal account for delivery to the same place so just register a new email each time and you can keep using the code but otherwise yes you can only used it once per account and can only order 1 bulb at a time

4 Sep 17#20
does the code only work on 1 bulb? Tried to order 2 and it doesn't work. Funnily enough, it also takes out the code from the 1st bulb so if I order 1 bulb it costs £9.35 and if I order 2 then it costs £28.34 which is weird.

Addicted to these bulbs! The colour ones are brighter than the white versions so if the price is right buy the colour one

4 Sep 17#13
That's odd. I have 2 colour ones and 3 white ones and I find them to be the same brightness. I would still go for the colour ones as you say, since when using as a 'white" bulb you can alter the colour temperature to match other lighting in a room.
