I just looked up the ingredients and did a bit of research on this as I was perplexed by your comment, especially as this toothpaste was recommended by my own dentists lol... and I found there are NO plastic microbeads in this toothpaste or any other Oral-B toothpastes lmao...(?) :unamused: I can't believe so many sheeple liked your comment lol.

What I mean is that my dental practice effectively recommend this product - they always give these out free to patients and I'm currently using it hence why I found it very odd if it was harmful in any way. To be fair, the actual dentist I see there doesn't have any preference for any of the brands of toothpaste - I've asked him which one is best a few times and he always says any flouride toothpaste is fine.

Just got the oral b pro 600 cross action from asda for £17.97 and the cross action heads was half price too from £32 down to £18 for 8 heads not bad if you want these.

The way around this (if you're prepared to spend the money up front) is to get two. Let one run right down (helps extend battery life, they're not latest technology) before putting on charge and using the other one. At this price it's still only £40 (less than RRP for one) and should last more than twice as long as a single brush.

This is the best value brush in the Oral-B range - it's the cheapest one with 3D action (good) but without the pointless features they add further up the range. Recommended by my dentist and hygienist. Has been slightly cheaper in clearance from time to time but this is a very good price.

Its about time they put lithium batteries in these. I think using nickel ones is also a marketing strategy to get you to replace every couple of years. Even the Lidl Nevadent branded brushes have Lithium batteries. They also use oral b brush heads but if, like me, you like the 3D effect (basically extra vibration) then the lidl ones might dissapoint.

Wrong! Only the Oral B Genius and above have lithium batteries, that doesn't mean the multitude of models below it with NiMH batteries are not current.
Braun make it quite difficult to ascertain which battery they put in their devices. The UK oral B 6500 series is advertised with all sorts of superfluous tech such as Bluetooth connectivity which you pay through the nose for but they don't advertise that it has a Nickel battery.
Even more confusing is that the Pro 6500 is called the Pro 7000 in the States and the Genius 9000 is called the Genius Pro 8000 in the States and the Genius 8000 UK model is not quite the same as any of those across the pond!
If you want a Genius (lithium) model you have to pay £100+ whereas the Lidl Nevadent is £14.99, hence my scepticism re. Braun

I have this still from over a year ago, highly recommend it. Just do yourself a favour...the cheap knock off heads really are poo dont bother. The official ones come up on here cheap enough :thumbsup:

Don't get why this is being voted hot. It's often in supermarkets at this or lower price. I bought one a month ago at Asda for £17.50.

Does anybody know if there are any issues with using the Ni-MH charger on an Li-ion battery? Being that you can replace the battery, if you're feeling adventurous. You definitely feel the wear after a couple of years.

just got one of lidl's brushes, 14.99 and the brushes are 8 for 4 quid
great so far, charges very quick too
if it dies it goes in the bin, no great loss

I always use Oral-B but I choose the models with the sensitive option - better for your gums. I keep the receipt and take out the extended warranty. Last one I had problems with the short power retention / failing battery I took it back to Boots and they changed it for a new one. Current one I bought it in Feb and already the battery light comes on every couple of days so I will refer back to Amazon for a refund / replacement as within 12 months. In any case I have the 3-year extended warranty with Oral-B as well, as a fallback. :sweat_smile:

How so? My box wasn't sealed which seemed odd, but I only really checked the battery type. The brush didn't turn on (ie battery was fully depleted) if that's any help.

I can confirm my box wasn’t sealed either. I brought this one and one from groupon which was cheaper both the same have the old battery type and not sealed. The one from groupon actually came with a shaver plug can’t complain really ! Keeping the groupon 1 and sending amazon one back
