This is purely for ebay sales. Link your ebay account to your parcel2go account. You must not use the ebay postage. Go to parcel2go and click "ebay delivery" It will upload your orders, add the weight and size etc, and select service. The price has been reduced to £1.59+VAT so £1.91 all in for myhermes drop shop with no insurance. There is no insurance so best for low value items only but if you dont need insurance then its fine. This is likely due to matching the ebay shutl offer etc so will likely end on or around 14th.

Send 100s of parcels through them through my business. Using them for a couple of years and they have lost 2. My maths is not great but pretty sure that works out less than 90%. I am sure your statistic that you got from someone down the pub is far more accurate though.

Ive also used them alot and they are terrible. The dont have insurance on most items and lost plenty of things I've sent, its an incredibly weak service. The delivery drivers are normal everyday people not actual contracted workers. Worth paying that bit more for a reliable service.

Nonsense IME. I have had more lost parcels with Royal Mail than Myhermes and no one goes accusing them of losing 90% of parcels. MyHermes have a (mostly) undeserved bad rep. The other benefit of MyHermes is on the few times I have had something damaged or go missing they have been very fast to respond and offer fast convenient compensation, where as Royal Mail takes an age to respond, especially for international items, which are typically the ones that go missing the most and then you eventually get a cheque, which takes another 7 days plus to clear. Cheques in this day and age

I'm not even sure they're a 50/50 service where there's a chance you may even get completion of the service you pay for. Sadly the reviews about this company indicate they are.
My company dispatches around 600 items a month via it's marketplace platforms, and even though these guys are competitively cheaper, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Around two (maybe three) years ago I decided to use them during the Christmas period to handle the delivery of a certain product we were selling at the time (due to sizing). The biggest mistake I have ever made (I've made a few in my time). I don't have the statistics to hand, but around 40% of the orders dispatched never made it to their destination.
I literally cringe now when I know that any incoming parcel is sent via MyHermes, whether that be commercially or domestically. I've sat at home once to open the door to take the dogs for a walk and a MyHermes driver has been walking down my drive. He's only gone and left the parcel in the bin without even trying to alert any of the household members using the common channels - a simple knock or by using the doorbell.
I appreciate that if you're just using this company to send the occasional package from time to time then the chances are you won't see their failings, but they do happen, and they do happen often.
Each to their own though, I guess. This is obviously just my opinion, but I'd rather pay the difference and use alternative routes for my deliveries. I'd personally recommend DPD, but at the same time understand that there are possibly people that have experienced the same issues I have with MyHermes with DPD.

I agree, it is the second time now that my items are sent back as "no one was at home" while i was at home the whole day (days). Also their customer service is awful and incredibly incompetent. Avoid them.

This myhermes price war/drop is proving brilliant for sellers. Ebay doing this, pushing Parcel2Go to react. Fantastic for businesses.

3 Sep 17#12
Agree that a price war/drop is good, but then the Royal Mail small parcel under 2kg is only £2.90. For that I lose probably 1 in 200 parcels and then it's just a case of filling out the compensation form and claiming.
If I were to switch to this, how easy is it to claim compensation and do you need a printer to do the labels (I haven't got one).
With any luck Royal Mail will reduce their cost?

I ask for a written proof of delivery from hermes and they just play stupid,...same with eBay, they didn't gave me any refund, although one of the senders admited that got the lost item back...after wasting endless hours trying to communicate with incompetent hypocrites, the only thing left to do is to send a written complain to their HQ...12 years on eBay, spending literally many £Ks...dont touch them again.

I have to say that i use my hermes and touch wood they are good i think 1 parcel out of a few hundred in my time has been lost the only bad bit about them is trying to contact them !!! Awful trying to , but in this world of penny pinching etc.... you can offer a good postage price if a larger item over 2 kg is posted via the post office it then goes as parcel force and it min £12.98 ! Now will buyers pay double for the post or look for the cheapest post and item im sure the latter so i have praise for my hermes been good BUT the only downfall is the customer service if you can get hold of them

I think most of those who comment about lost parcels or parcels chucked over gates etc are regurgitating past posts over and over. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, and I've tentatively used them a few times recently and found them absolutely fine.
Those saying about not being insured, I pay extra for insurance and signature, have never had to claim, but if you pay for the insurance then I'm puzzled why your parcel isn't insured?
Tracking seems very good.

I've used Hermes for a good 5-6 years now. Sending out thousands of parcels every year. In all this time, I've only ever had a handful of customers saying they've not received parcel / lost / damaged.
I recommend Hermes to send my parcels. Very quick service when you use the parcelshops (2-3 days - sometimes they get there next day depending on location). Easy to track online and through eBay , the tracking is even more detailed than the actual website.
Yes I agree, that not all Hermes drivers are careful, but if items are not packaged properly or left loose in the package, then there is more chance of breakages.

Send about 10 Ebay parcels a week though various carriers- Hermes are unreliable as it's a very variable service backed by an awful customer services dept. As pointed out-this is also dependant on the competence of courier handling the parcel- some good, some mind numbingly bad. I've had too many issues with them over the years and now only send very low value, sturdy items. Why still use them occasionally then? It's all to do with locations and parcels weights/dimensions- they are competitive in certain areas, though i still consider them a bit of a gamble to be honest.

Ordered a delivery for a larger item on ebay last December, paid using PayPal balance which generated an error on the site but took the balance, so after two days of slow or no replies from support eventually told to book another delivery.
Paid again using Visa Debit and what a pain - paid to have item collected on my day off but they ended up never turning up - back on to support: still not refunded first failed PayPal payment now the issue with non-collection.
Took weeks to get it sorted and had to go though PayPal to get a refund. Never refunded the collection fee I paid and ended up taking it myself to a PacelStop location. Wouldn't use these cowboys again.

With the 96th, they said they'd delivered but the recipient said they didn't have it. I contacted Parcel2Go - they apologised and immediately refunded the postage cost and started an investigation. The recipient then found the parcel in their porch!

4 Sep 17#61
Yep. I've never had a parcel arrived intact from DPD. I don't mean a little bit ripped, I mean I can stick my whole arm in the boxes without removing any tape. I cringe when I know something is coming via DPD.
The only credit I can give them is they carried a cat tree upstairs for me, which weighed more than I did. Also with a gaping hole in the box. But I was hardly going to send that back was I?
Also their app where you can re-arrange delivery doesn't work. When I have tried I end up with couriers shouting down the phone at me because they have not got the message passed on.
Local Hermes bloke on the other hand is absolutely lovely. Had one parcel delivery messed up in the last week, that's the first one ever though.
BuzzDuraband
4 Sep 17#62
It was actually unfair of me to use DPD as my example (although we've had a fair few deliveries off them). I was actually referring to Interlink, before they became DPD Local.
It's all down to what you are most comfortable with, I guess. If you build up a decent enough 'friendship' with your driver, then I suppose they may just take that little more care / make that little more effort. Like I said, though - I appreciate that people have had issues with pretty much all the delivery couriers. It's good that some can find those they feel assured and comfortable with.
Stimpington
4 Sep 17#63
Even Hermes don't claim that. Around 98% delivery attempts on time, and they reckon 95% are successful first time. Still impressive, but I resent the fact their stats are boosted by my weirdo neighbours and my bin, which Hermes deem as acceptable alternative delivery addresses.
They get other stuff wrong too, and even though their exit from the market would inevitably increase the price of the competition, I am petty and resentful enough that I hope they fail and die.

4 Sep 17#64
If Hermes exited, there's not enough capacity in the rest of the carrier base to serve the UK. As for the 1st time success rate - careers.hermes-europe.co.uk/abo…tml

Or send it and its likely I will receive it, even if its not
for me :relaxed: !!! had it happen several times.
It stated on the address label (addressed not to us) that it required signature yet it was just left
outside (no other house within 20 yards) without signature. But guess
what, went on their website to see status of this tracked parcel someone else
has been waiting for, and it stated that signature was obtained. How
about that for cheating customers. Did manage to find the right recipient
on occasion but otherwise there was someone out there out of pocket.
I might use them to deliver my parcel(well, if they are last service
available), after all as long as they say it has been signed for I am OK.
But would never like them to be used for parcels send to me. I could end
up without a parcel, with Hermes stating I got it (when they fake a
signature) and no customer service to talk to. Tried to alert them
to their delivery person's cheats but they were not interested. Awful :fearful:
Stimpington
5 Sep 17#67
I didn't mean if they vanished overnight :P
But wow you're right, Hermes do claim that. And elsewhere on their site they claim 1st time success 94.7%. I wonder which is right? I would be astonished if the number of packages not delivered first time were fewer than 1 in 50 as claimed. But if so, then hats off to the twats.
I can't find the clarifying stats they refer to on any reports by the '"IMRG MetaPack Delivery Index". They must be somewhere..

My experience with Hermes has been excellent both sending (a lot) and receiving parcels. I don't understand why they have a bad reputation and Royal Mail have a good one - I dread receiving things (or not as the case often is) from RM, and don't understand why companies use them when they are one of the most expensive options.
By all means don't rate them if that's your thing but they're pretty decent from my experience of putting millions of parcels through them.
It stated on the address label (addressed not to us) that it required signature yet it was just left outside (no other house within 20 yards) without signature. But guess what, went on their website to see status of this tracked parcel someone else has been waiting for, and it stated that signature was obtained. How about that for cheating customers. Did manage to find the right recipient on occasion but otherwise there was someone out there out of pocket.
I might use them to deliver my parcel(well, if they are last service available), after all as long as they say it has been signed for I am OK. But would never like them to be used for parcels send to me. I could end up without a parcel, with Hermes stating I got it (when they fake a signature) and no customer service to talk to. Tried to alert them to their delivery person's cheats but they were not interested. Awful :fearful:
But wow you're right, Hermes do claim that. And elsewhere on their site they claim 1st time success 94.7%.
I wonder which is right? I would be astonished if the number of packages not delivered first time were fewer than 1 in 50 as claimed. But if so, then hats off to the twats.
I can't find the clarifying stats they refer to on any reports by the '"IMRG MetaPack Delivery Index". They must be somewhere..
Fo3 COMMENT.
I have used Hermes for a long time and I have never had a problem with them. I have sent many larger, higher value items via Hermes. They have all been promptly delivered, tracked and arrived undamaged. I would highly recommend them. By the way I do not work for Hermes!!
1 parcel over weight (probably my error) and they charged me £3. 1 parcel they couldn't deliver, so they returned it to me and advised they would charge return postage which they didn't. I am happy with their service.
It's only £3 bonus for new accounts.
Better than nothing but not as good as 5%
Works for the thousands prob millions that use it including me.
