Tesco has a funny return service in that they return you full amount even though you bought the item at a discount. I bought this item but I also bought the P10 Lite at the same time. I really liked the P10 so went to return the 'still sealed' G5. To my surprise I noticed £150 something instead of the £125 on my receipt and ... decided to keep it :smile:

Considering this has worse performance than the G4, and the camera is not apparently any better than the G4 plus, what exactly are you paying for with the G5? A better design?
I'm in the market for a new phone - around £100-150, but I feel like one of the Chinese phones or a decent refurb would be a better use of the money?

Just bought a Xperia X for £180 used very good of amazon, hopefully it will have a significant camera upgrade to my redmi note 3 pro which camera is absolute trash.

Oh ffs, I just bought a brand new for £229 (albeit with a 2 year guarantee) with JL price matching. Wonder what the warranty is on this one from Amazon. 30 days ? 12 months ?

Its got a 30 day return period for self reasons, but usually amazon are decent with returns even upto 2 years! My old graphics card got faulty (no idea just started getting vertical green lines) so I contacted amazon and they just wanted me to send it in and I got a refund for it, did not even offer me a replacement even though it was still in manufacture warranty.
Either way yours is brand new for only £50 more and it most likely gonna be immaculate condition I would say keep it.

Just had a quick chat with Amazon. As an electrical item it has a 12 month warranty, and condition is listed 'As New', so ordered and if in perfect nick will return the unopened JL one.

Glad I could help, I think I know which one you took was it the 'very good' condition one with just damaged packaging and missing earphones?
That literally popped up as soon as mine was dispatched and I felt gutted as mine is also 'very good' but has some minor cosmetic damage on the sides of the phone (im assuming scratched plastic) but if its severe I'll just return but usually most 'very good' items in my experience are practicaly new unwanted returns.

No I managed to get the 'As New' Condition. There's still a couple left at £181. Description is as follows:
"Item will come in original packaging. Packaging will be damaged. All purchases eligible for Amazon customer service and a 30-day return policy"
These were priced at £230 only a week ago. You should be ok with a very good item. Agreed they sometimes can be returned items that people have handled and returned but apart from that are fine.
I did look at the very good, but they all seem to have small scratches on the screen, which would put me off. As will be in a case, sides and back I could live with.

Hi again, how was your phone when it arrived?
My 'like new' one just arrived now, but it was nothing at all 'like new' was more like a 'good' condition phone. Edges of the sides were slightly damaged (as if it had been dropped allot) and the camera lens had some minor scratches on it (doesn't effect quality of the pictures thank god, but still may cause issues in the future as the lens will be more prone to further scratches).

HI, sorry been away. The 'as new' condition arrived without any protectors on front and back, and there does not seem to be any marks on it at all. If you have the option I would order an 'as new' and return yours under the 30 day warranty if you still can.

No nfc on this which is a deal breaker for me I decided to get the e4 + a great phone imo for the money has nfc and fingerprint reader 5000mah battery lasts 2 days! etc not everyone cup of tea tho :grin:

its got a removable battery which is a plus in my book, so if battery expires after about 2 years or so easily replaced.
Most phone batteries are not removable being glued in

I used to have this mindset but now have realised once your phone gets older than 3 years it's nigh impossible to find a fresh recently manufactured OEM battery for your device. Only stuff available is third batteries from China etc with questionable capacity and safety standards. Had these issues with the Galaxy S a few years ago and removable batteries are no longer an incentive for these purposes.

I managed to replace the non replaceable battery in my smart ultra 6 easily enough after the original started to bulge and fail on me. Cant see why they arent made to just pop in and out anymore though as without the replacement i would have consigned any future vodafone tech to the do not buy list immediately.

Just looking for a phone for general incoming/outgoing calls & texts , a little social media and the odd emergency surfing the net (my contract only has 500mb data included as I rarely need it 'on the go' and most of my use is over wifi)
I was considering the Redmi note 4 global or perhaps even waiting for the note 5 ..... don't want to spend more than £140/£150 really although something nearer to £100 would be even better :wink:

Thanks for that :wink: Not too sure about the blue colour and given the choice would prefer a larger screen to help with my crappy vision , lol ...... far too many damn choices , another phone showing on here is the Xiaomi Mi A1 which also boasts a really good camera , although admittedly wasn't something I included in my initial criteria but I am sure i'd benefit from a good camera on the phone too. My current phone is an Lg G3 so going for a smaller screen might not be my best option here. Hmmmmm............
Looking for a cheap phone to take away to South Africa next week (would rather lose that rathen than my s8). This looks very very tempting, if only it didn't have such a big screen, I would be all over it (might still get it as with my 24 pounds tesco vouchers it would come up to 50ish pounds). Could get the moto for around 100, hmmm definitely size would be better, but probably similar performance for half the price... arghh hate that kind of decisions :disappointed:

The 'heat' is not a particularly conclusive indication that this is a great deal but posting back to china or posting to uk is the same visit to the Post office , no ? Obviously I would expect a longer turnaround time with the repair I guess when sending to China but other than that I'm not seeing many other comparisons in terms of spec of each phone in your post. I usually like to make balanced decisions when purchasing items like phones.
