Hi all, I posted this freebie just over a year ago, but this is a handy reminder that this course is available still. Completely free online course. 8 weeks at 3hrs per week. You even get to learn from an astronaut how to carry out a spacewalk.
The course itself starts in a couple of days on 26th September 2017 (I'm guessing they run them every 2 - 3 months.
You can also pay for a certificate at the end of it if you really want.
Spaceflight is exciting, and you don’t have to be a “Rocket Scientist” to share in the excitement! 16.00x makes the basics of spaceflight accessible to everyone. Join MIT Professor Jeffrey Hoffman, a former NASA astronaut who made five spaceflights and was the first astronaut to log 1000 hours on the Space Shuttle, as he teaches you the core principles behind space travel and exploration. The course will cover how rockets work, how spacecraft move in orbit, how we create artificial environments inside spacecraft to keep astronauts alive and healthy, what it’s like living in a world without gravity, how the human body adapts to space, and how spacewalks happen, plus more. Many lessons will be illustrated with Professor Hoffman’s own experiences in space.
What you'll learn:- * The basic principles of how rockets work (rocket science) * How spacecraft move in orbit (orbital mechanics) * What is required to keep astronauts alive and healthy in space (environmental control and life support) * Basic concepts of safety and risk management * The effects of weightlessness on the human body * How to carry out a spacewalk

Masonic lies. Only masons go to 'space', NADA is a complete joke.
If you believe their fairy stories you are a complete produkt, don't forget to buy your opinion in paper form and settle down comfy in front of the telly for your 9/10'oclock daily indoctrination. You get special produkt bonus if you manage to catch the hourly brain wash by radio too, any station will do they'll exactly the same.

The first module is Rocket science which has some maths as does the Orbital Mechanics Module the other modules not much.
Perhaps It would have been better to say it only uses basic maths not any advanced maths like calculus like you would see in a full on Uni course in space science

Yuck! To continue to LIE to everyone that things really exist in the Thermosphere is vomitus and disgustingly deceptive! Operation Fishbowl proved that there is no outer space and that we are living in an enclosed environment with a dome firmament over the earth, so the fact that MIT keeps spewing exorcist lies is revolting!"
Magnificent. Enrolled after reading!

You know this guy is a serious astronaut with that moustache.
In all seriousness watch NASA: When we left the earth episode 6. At the start it shows him on the team that worked back to back spacewalks to fix the Hubble telescope in orbit. He was an EVA specialist and undertook one of the most difficult spacewalk missions ever.

Heated. I did this last year (found out about it here then too). Fascinating course, so interesting it genuinely makes the learning fun. Really well delivered great quality videos with Jeffrey Hoffman who is a excellent teacher, probably the best online course I have ever done!
