This uproar about micro transactions is absolute nonsense. If anyone has actually read the info they’ll find out, like many other games, that the micro transactions are there, and only there for the lazy gamers who want a quick shortcut. This in no way affects regular game play and all things offered in the marketplace are available in game just by playing it. So if you just ignore the marketplace, it will in no way affect your experience. I can completely understand that this is a greedy move on Warner’s part to make a bit of extra cash, but the gaming industry is a business and adding this feature is proven to add revenue because of gamers that have less time to play and money to burn. Will it devalue your SOW experience if you purchase from the marketplace? YES. Will it affect your SOW experience if you just play the game normally, ABSOLUTELY NOT :unicorn:

If you don't think they have messed with the drop rates to make the game more grindy so that people have to gamble with real money, then you are living in dreamland. Otherwise the gambling crates have no purpose. Also, don't get me started on how immersion breaking this sort of thing is. How can you get into a game world when you are forever being pestered about gambling boxes? That's without WB making money off a dead developer by pocketing donations outside of 46 US states. Like many other people, this went from a day one purchase to a 'buy the GOTY edition when it's a tenner', thanks to WB's terrrible, disgusting practices. The AAA gaming industry has become morally bankrupt these days and hopefully it will lead to the second great videogame crash and we can go back to purchasing games once for one price.

While I’m not sure how much we agree on how this will interfere with the mechanics of the game and it’s overall interrupted experience trying to avoid the marketplace. I wholeheartedly agree with you that since DLC & Micro Transactions, developers have absolutely made a rod for their own back forcing most people into waiting until games are worth half the price and offering all DLC before biting.

The only ones in dreamland are people who think that an insignificant amount of people not buying this game on day 1 because of microtransactions could possibly lead to a "video game crash," lmao. Are you for real? Everything you've said is either misinformed or based on assumptions. Might it possibly be more grindy as a result of microtransactions? Absolutely, although we don't know for a fact that it will be. Is it worth not experiencing the rest of this awesome game? No. As for "making money off a dead developer," WB have recently come out and clarified that they will not profit from the DLC and the money will go to the deceased's family.

I’m glad someone else is also staying positive and just very much looking forward to enjoying what I’m sure will be an excellent game. I still don’t think to micro transactions will be too interfering, it’s not a bloody mobile game!

The first game was amazing, and this game looks 10 x better. Sorry, no way I'm not buying this game. Won't support the micro-transactions, as in any game I play, but I'm defo buying this game.

Buy it 2nd hand, or new in a couple of months after the price has dropped. It will hit their day/week one sales profits and you still getting play it

All the WB shenanigans and people still vote hot for pre-ordering a game. Boggles my mind.

Great price and sequel to one of my favourite games this generation. Personally going to hold off until the Xbox One X comes out though, hopefully the price will drop even further before then (unlikely though).

I loved the original but the antics that WB have been up to lately has put me off buying this until it's a very low price. They'll probably bring a complete edition out or something anyway

Not sure what the big problem is with micro transactions, Uncharted 4 had them within the online multiplayer and no one cried like an 8 year old then!

I think the latest one is that they are charging DLC which was meant to be a nice send off for one of Monolith team that died last year.
$5 with $3.50 going to a charity, but the family have a gofundme page, it just all seems a bit dodgy on WB's part.

only in certain states and only in the USA anything outside of those goes straight to WB. the terms are in the small print.

Played this at Gamescom and felt like a more polished version of the first but for me that's a good thing. Nothing that scared me away then but didn't get long enough for microtransactions to be an issue. Still a day one so heat from me

yep, just progress through the game, and don't buy any microtransactions, they have stated that you can get all the equipment if you just play, that also makes the game longer and more enjoyable

Do that take the cash when it gets posted? Or now?

Just realised the other link was just for the loot boxes which is obviously rubbish too.
though if what WB said is true why did they put the tiny terms up in the first place? you would have that in bold and THEN say that even though the licences are hard to get we will still donate the entire profits. They didnt, they wont and they are scurrying around trying to play nice.

I already have this preordered with Base.com for less than £2 more. Who's the better/faster shipper? I want this on day 1 or sooner.

I really wish this wasnt a good game, WB have been terrible, making money off of the dead developer. Luckily im not a fan of it but i know the original had great reviews. Im trying to now stay away from the WB franchise.

I was so excited for this game until this microtransaction business came about. They've made it so, it's so uphill to obtain the same benefits. Pushing for customers to pay for them. Personally I will pick this up when it hits under twenty quid. Rather spend my money on games that have been faithful, such as Titanfall 2.
Each for their own and regards I've voted hot because it's the best price.
Opening post
Same price applies to xbox 1 version.
