I always wondered about the usage of a mega laptop..for me , it could either be a laptop(14-15") or a big large screened desktop..I know a lot of people out there think differently

Not sure I get your drift. I would not be without a 17" laptop. It sits in my kitchen, and I spend most of my time using it. I also have a desktop with a 27" screen, and I have not used it for years. The 17" screen makes such a difference, and until you have tried one you will never understand. The difference over a 15" screen is massive, and if you are not bothered about portability it is the way to go. It is portable though, and I have taken mine on the occasional overnight break.

17" laptop isnt really portable. I acheive largely the same thing with a 13 inch laptop and a 24 inch HD monitor (30 quid off gumtree), i can plug the laptop into the monitor (or chromecast to it from a tablet)
That way i have a usable laptop and a large screen for when i need to do work (including working from home).
I had a 17" laptop briefly. My boss bought one, gave up on it then took it into the office to replace an old desktop. Doesnt actually fit on my lap and i cant use it on a plane or a train because of the size.

Don't really give a toss about the graphics, more interested in the processor and build quality, those could be weak links for me. The rest of it looks bang on what I need.
that's similar to my xeon e5620 I am gaming on and which is bottlenecked by my RX470 graphics card at 1080p gaming (i.e. GPU will run 100% but the CPU never does)

Looks similar to my Mibook Air in terms of Spec but is miles bigger! Not sure if fancy 1080p on a 17.3 laptop

Really very nice spec for the money. Obviously it could be better but for what you are paying and my experience of Medion products in the past you could do a lot worse than buy this. If this was something like an HP it would be either/or on the SSD HDD and onboard GFX and likely an i7 for a lot more money.

Medion - the Primark of the laptop world. Don't expect it to last much longer than its warranty... and to be honest I don't think those specs for that price are even that good of a deal!

So tempting! Been after a 17" laptop for a while now as I use it primarily with my Turbo Trainer, but having checked the benchmarks against my existing laptop which has an i7 CPU and AMD GPU, I wouldn't really be gaining anything other than an extra 2" of screen. Still, it looks to be a decent spec for the money.

Isn't 256gb a too little? And picking i5 instead of a i7 is the right choice?
