excellent floodlight fitted one on the weekend. easily as bright as the 500w halogen it replaced

No way! 15watt LED is going to be equivalent to approx 150w halogen at best.

well what can i say? my back garden is about 10-15m long and it lights it up. no noticeable difference to the 500w it replaced - not to my eyes anyway

The advertised light offers a quoted 1200 lumens.
For instance, a 10-watt LED floodlight will emit 700 lumens, which is slightly on the lower side than a 100W halogen bulb. A 30W LED floodlight will emit2400 lumens which is on par with a 350W halogen light. At 4000 lumens, a 50W LED floodlight can provide the same amount of brightness that a 500W halogen does.

How did you fit this? I mean how did you arrange power supply? Did drill through the wall and connected to socket?
konraddrozdz to suchitmehta7
19 Sep 17#44
You can fit them any way you wish - I'm sure as most lights this comes with bare wiring so you need to mount the light on the wall and connect to existing power line (splitting cables with a connector) or connect wires to a wall plug. If in doubt contact a qulified electrician to do the job for you.

Excellent lights . Bought a cheap 20watt floodlight for front of house then a few weeks ago bought 10watt ones in Screwfix sale and there much brighter. Even replaced 150watt halogen work floodlight that if had slightest knock when hot invariably meant bust bulb . Brighter than the 150watt and just needed a hole drilling to fix to stand. Available for next day C @ C.

Got a load of the bright white version of this in the screwfix sale along with some of the £2.99 ones. Put 6 right around the outside of the house and they are great. Looks good when you walk around outside up the drive and each one pings on as you get near it.
Get some junction boxes as well to connect the wires up inside
Oh and keep checking every few hours as when i was looking at them it said non available for delivery and non available for collection but an hour later it said available to order into store and collect next day

I've had this for about 6 months. Epic light tbh. Much brighter than the halogen it replaced. To wire it up (I took the easy route). I drilled a hole through the wall and poked the built in cable through and caulked the hole. Then I wired the other end to a cheap junction box to some cheap flex with a 3A plug.

Installed a couple of these the other week. They have a pre-wired cable so you need a junction box - I used this one, as it's IP65 and includes the terminal block.
Mine seem a bit inconsistent, but if you turn it off-on-off-on quickly it should stay on.

Thanks OP. I need to upgrade the two halogen floodlights on the rear of the house and these sound ideal.
I just hope the neighbour to the rear is OK with it as my existing ones are quite bright and sometimes get triggered throughout the night . But brighter is better, right?
Anyhow the rear neighbours must be heavy sleepers as they've never mentioned anything.
