It's not the chicken as it arrives with them - it's the lack of hygiene once they have it. Look up 'KFC' and 'fecal matter' and you'll see what I mean. They obviously don't police their franchisees very well.

I have to disagree with most off this as i work in a factory that supply kfc and guess what the same chicken in tesco is also for expensive waitrose. Fact. All high grade A . Kfc are actually very strict in what they purchase. Im always happy to eat the chicken we produce. But i have to say i love the taste off spar chickens as its much nicer. And know i dont work at the two sisters factory lol. I love kfc in portadown ,but cookstown is vile

You do realise that KFC Halal chicken is stunned - kfc.co.uk/halal

9. IS KFC'S HALAL CHICKEN STUNNED BEFORE SLAUGHTER?
Yes, due to our strict animal welfare standards, we insist that all our poultry is stunned before slaughter. Our halal chicken has been accredited by the Halal Food Authority, one of the most widely recognised bodies in the UK and overseas. It allows the use of a technique called 'stun-to-stun'
Justme1969
12 Sep 17 #122
It's all in the lyrics, listen to the lyrics

^ listen and learn

KFC are part of the degradation of the culture, if we collectively accept that its perfectly fine to enslave & torture other sensitive organisms in this way, and use them for food, which is basically toxic, then what does that say about us as a species collectively?

Stop being a bunch of selfish nihilists and grow some balls and step away from the system.

I actually complained online about this and sent them a picture too and they emailed my back today stating how they dish out the chicken pieces. He stated they are told to do a mixture of breast, dark mean and drumstick. So there's equal amounts for everybody as per chicken they get more dark meat then breast. Which still doesn't explain why the scrappy little pieces are there or why some tastes dry and bland and others are nice or why they don't do the colonels club there still (which I also kinda complained about in the email). He just said it's normal to get these little bit of chicken. That's it. Terrible customer service if you ask me. I'd try it again at this price and ask for majority breast meat if I were you n just wait if u have time. I actually prefer the darker meat but it's too small n scrappy. Enjoy it tomorrow if u do go ‌ :muscle:
Zerobob
11 Sep 17 #107
At least you got a breast piece... I think.

The last few times I've been to KFC and ordered a 3 piece meal I've been given 2x thigh 1x drumstick. No breast.

I used to demand all 3 pieces were breast because of this, just so there was enough meat to feed a 6ft human male, but there was always at least a 15 min wait, so I gave up doing that. Plus it felt awkward.

Now I just don't go at all. However, I'm tempted to go tomorrow and order this deal just to see which 9 pieces of chicken they give me.

and how would a 1000 year old religion know what toxins, urea or disease was? let me guess.... god/muhammad/jehova written it down in ohh so convenient and unspecific way?
stop believing in man made fairytales and you wont have a problem with this.

but let the science be a judge here

any toxins/urea/blood will be neutralised in the stomach acid...
if anything passes through you have kidneys to filter the remains....
99% of bacteria die in the stomach acid so even if the animal had HIV you would be lucky to get the condition from ingesting the blood.

Not all Halal and Kosher animals are stunned first. For some reason they don't have to be. It's very cruel not to stun first. The animal can be conscious for upto 2 minutes after their throat is cut. Please read this document from the RSPCA rspca.org.uk/Ima…prd

but I bet you enjoy a kosher beef burger at McDonald's which is slaughtered in the same way!

Halal and Kosher are cleaner ways of producing meat, blood contains urea, toxins, disease, which is drained with Halal / kosher.

if you feel better eating dirtier stunned meat, go for it.

Not even close, but a good try. I'm glad you haven't wasted your Saturday afternoon trying to pick arguments with strangers on subjects you know little about.

BTW I live 6 miles from puddledub and have met the owners on numerous occasions at local farmers markets. This isn't an 'ethical' mass producer for supermarket chains, they are a small local business supplying farm shops and farmers markets. Google puddledub, the farm I am actually talking about, rather than posting links to general discussions about industry practice or other, totally unrelated, businesses, then we can discuss my naivety.
Besford
9 Sep 17 #73
But KFC chicken isn't going to be nearly as well reared as that: when you buy fresh chicken in the supermarket you can check its origin and feel good about it being reared under UK standards (not great but better than most in the world); when you buy cooked/processed chicken you don't have the same knowledge of origin and much of it comes from places that really don't adhere to reasonable standards at all. Next time you go to KFC ask where their skinny chickens are sourced from! PS I love chicken, used to love KFC too but it really is poor these days.

Does anyone even eat this rubbish anymore when even the local Abduls fried chicken is better, fresher, cleaner, cheaper etc etc

Not sure how you'd know all that unless you worked there. Self marketing is against the terms :stuck_out_tongue:

Fed with cheap food laced with supplements to make them fatter, locked in cages all their lives, tortured yet the "farmer" has the gall to recite the Quran at it's death thinking it would be a peaceful death, cheaper because it's bad quality and nowhere near the quality of Moy Park, pumped full of water to feign size, and not even has the blood drained properly. Gtfo with that self promotion.

no need to drain blood from, a just-killed chook

either wring their necks or chop their heads off

no particular blood will spring forth

then pluck'em & cook'em
