I did this one in July this year Paris - Tokyo - London (via Moscow). Booked the tickets in January so yes its a reoccurring deal. I could give them 4/5 for the service (I somehow felt my requests were a pain in the *** - not a hint of a smile ever). The food was good! No strong % drinks in the economy though - wine is all you can get during the meal time (there are 3 meals during the flight to Tokyo and back). And no, no VODKA my dears!
My flight from Paris to Moscow was delayed by more than 3 hours due to severe weather so I technically would have missed the connecting flight but guess what - Aeroflot held the Tokyo flight in Moscow to let us catch it. More for an economic reason I guess but still boss!
Defo recommended guys if you don't need smiling staff! :innocent:

First off thanks to OP , this is an Amazing deal!
@Atlantise : How was the heat / humidity? is it worse than South India in summer by any chance? or Spain / Alicante in Summer? We will be travelling with our 8yr old and hence really curious. have booked the tickets nonetheless as its really is an Amazing deal and bang in the middle of Summer Hols.

I have no comparison to either but it is hot but probably not as humid as India I imagine. After a 20h flight and a sleepless night I was still able to walk around the city for the whole day with a backpack on me;) I was all sweaty though. Im sure you will have a blast! I did  Just carry a bottle of drink everywhere you go and you should be more than fine. Evenings are super pleasant!

Last time I flew Aeroflot: Beijing - Moscow - London, the journey went wrong twice. First plane was delayed by about 4 hours for technical reasons. Luckily our planned connection at SVO was something like 5-6 hours, so we rushed to make our plane to London only to find that one delayed for technical reasons too - it ended up being cancelled and rescheduled for the following morning. We were all put up in a hotel outside the airport despite not having visas (I think the hotel was guarded). Time for about 3 hours sleep. Not a great experience although we were probably unlucky!

When was that? 2nd time in 3 years we have used AirHelp (other companies available) to claim compensation- we just got the thumbs up for our flight in ealry Sept so will be getting a 900 euro payment in a couple of weeks or so.

Musehead- both these flights qualify for compensation under EU compensation rules. I recently got my Moscow flight refunded as it was cancelled and rescheduled for the next day. I used flightdelayed.com who took 25% comission. Let me know if you need any more info

Heat added. I originally saw Aeroflot and thought of their old reputation as "the world's deadliest airline" but media and reviews from the last year or two are surprisingly good.

top tip when travelling to japan
before you go get a rail pass saves a fortune but has to be purchased before you travel
plunet to mattmerch

You can now buy the rail pass in Japan as a foreigner in a limited number of places, but that is a reasonably recent development and its probably easier to get it before you travel. The rail pass is good value if you plan to make more than 3 decent length train journeys.

For what it's worth, I got this offer back in December.
Originated in Rome, flew to Tokyo with an hour or so layover in Moscow and returning to Heathrow with the same layover on the return. Best trip I've ever been on and I cannot wait to return to Japan.
Also can't praise Aeroflot enough, all flights were fine, food included. Would definitely use them again.

I flew Aeroflot to Cuba last year and they were dreadful. The service on the plane was rude at best but the worst part were the seats. The angle of the lower seat to the upright part means that you are sitting in an odd position the entire flight. My back was in agony after it.
Not to mention on the way back, the flight was late meaning we they made us miss connection in SVO so has to spend 9hours in the airport hotel (which they paid for) which was a box with a bed in, no windows etc. Additionally because it's not an EU airline and we were flying into the UK, no compensation...
I wont be flying with Aeroflot again if I can help it.

The humidity is off the chart and the temperatures are mental. We travelled around japan and found that everywhere we went was hot and humid. I knew what to expect as I had been there before but it still hit me. Still, don't let it put you off!

Aeroflot onboard has got a lot better in recent years. But the other major issue with Aeroflot is where you transit and their ground handling. Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO) has a fairly poor reputation. Immigration and transit security staff are at best rude. Other staff just don't care. Everything you might want to buy at the airport during your transit is mega-overpriced - even worse than European airports. And although most nationalities do not need a transit visa for connections less than 24 hours, if anything goes wrong with your connection and you end up spending more time at SVO than you planned you're trapped airside at the airport unless you've got a nice expensive Russian visa in your passport. Make sure you are fully aware of immigration requirements before you buy this.

Spring and late summer are the best times to visit Japan IMO. The festivals, the colours, the weather etc. Tokyo in the hot and sweaty, you might as well go to London and ride the tube in the august heat, slightly less people per carrage too!

Some of those flights are crazy long. The return flight on the link above is 17.5 hours for a flight that would usually take around 12!
RBrown89 to eraysor
18 Sep 17#6
I think you're referring to 12 for a non-stop flight. Most flights with a stop to Asia are well above that. This one has a 2-3hr stop in Moscow each way. I flew to Seoul with Alitalia last year and it was a 19 hour journey each way for example.

Yup they're a 4-star airline these days. Here are some more notes from the email I received:
This one is a recurring mispriced open-jaw flight (departs one airport and returns to another), where you have two options: a. depart Paris and return to London b. depart Rome and return to London
Notes: 1) While the fares are mispriced on this route, this deal has come up before and has always been honoured. 2) Aeroflot is 4-star rated airline flying Airbus planes and apart from one instance of a delayed bag, I've heard nothing but positive things from the many who grabbed this flight before (so worry-not!) 3) These have a short 2-3hr stop in Moscow each way, but you will not need a visa - you won't even need to leave the terminal
