This is a Tennessee Whiskey not a bourbon but all are whiskey or whisky

Yeah, it's a Tennessee sour mash but to all intents and purposes it's a bourbon. Calling it something else is pretty much JD marketing trying to make their product unique. In terms of taste - it isn't.

It's a Tennessee whiskey - although this has an almost identical profile to a bourbon"- Tennessee whiskey does conform to "bourbon" criteria and is therefore sometimes defined as a bourbon.

JD doesn't conform to the bourbon criteria the extra charcoal filtering means it can't be classed as a bourbon but process is the same to that point

Aye. As far as I'm concerned if it looks like a bourbon and tastes like a bourbon, that's what it is, regardless of where it was distilled... :nerd:

I believe this is a WHISKEY, with an E in it as it is not made in Scotland. Amazon continually get this wrong, as do posters.

Is this different whiskey from normal JD or is it just a different label on the bottle?
