In Derby Mickleover Store, they've got a few iPhone 6 Plus 16GB for £260
Advisor said it's Nationwide but may struggle to find any stock. They had 5/6 in their store.
Assuming it's locked to Tesco Mobile.

And as always Apple will push the new iOS 11 onto older devices which will basically kill them off slowly.

The new OLED screen is half the brightness of the one Samsung uses for itself. So maybe it simply has an unreliable ID turned off. It is quite weird, that brightness thing.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!
The touch IC is on the mainboard, and as the phone flexes this IC becomes faulty. There was a design change in the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus to move the touch IC from the mainboard to the screen to eliminate this design flaw. Apple know this and have the audacity to charge people £146 to get it repaired when it's their design flaw!
What a load of rubbish, you can’t buy any phone for £260 of this quality. My wife has the 6 since the day it come out. Works perfectly no issues at all. Still going strong now 3 years later or is it 4 years.

It depends where it was bought in the first place. If you buy direct from Apple, it's unlocked and will stay unlocked. If you buy from somewhere like carphone warehouse, it'll lock to the network of the first sim installed. If you buy from a network, it will be locked to that network.

I'd be reluctant to buy anything like this ( i.e. device for such an amount , apple or android) secondhand - you just don't know it's history , with too many pitfalls e.g. Could have been a replaced screen , which look pristine , but I haven't personally known a successful long-term instance ; there's no saying what the battery state is ,and from what I can gather iPhone batteries aren't great in the first place , and can't be replaced etc

apple.com/sup…ch/ Apple have decided why you have caused it. Try telling that to the people who have had up to 6 units replaced. ifixit.org/blo…th/ Bad solder joints by the sound of it, often known as dry joints in that aged solder can crack. Most likely other cause is expansion and contraction from the warming and cooling in use.
You would hope they make a better effort in the factory now. Funny how none Plus users can be trusted yet the Plus users cannot.

I had this on my iPhone 6 plus, and luckily it went faulty just inside the warranty period so they gave me a replacement phone at the Apple store (with only 3 month warranty!) To avoid the problem I would suggest using a solid case that stops the phone flexing - mine has been fine for over a year now.

Not trying to be a hater but 16gb in 2017 is NOT enough. Especially for this price point.

It's not a "design flaw". A design flaw is something that causes the item to go wrong of its own accord. It clearly says the break will come about "after being dropped multiple times on a hard surface".
So if your phone screen cracks when you drop it, it's a design flaw? No. It's called being a klutz. And this exactly the same.

24 Sep 17#67
total BS. I used an iPhone 6 plus for two years, now use a 7 Plus and will get iPhone X. Anyway, the 6+ worked like a dream for those two years, and the battery consistently gave 1-2 days of heavy use, even better than the expensive (£919!) 7+ I use currently. I wish people would stop posting scare mongering crap that they don't understand which relates to only a small % of the phones. It's just as bad for samsung, I know some exploded but I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Samsung phone.
Your argument is as valid as "don't go on a plane because it might crash".
Plus, you clearly never owned an iPhone 6. Anyone who has owned one would be touting how good they are. This is a good deal, minus the awful 16gb memory. If you don't use many apps and migrate your photos across every week then it's a total steal however. That money for the awesome user experience and interface of iOS is amazing.
LadyEleanor
24 Sep 17#68
Been mentioned lots in other reports, but I do now suspect the maxmum auto brightness of both will be very similar, maybe the lower resolution of the iphone aiding higher peak. Not that using it outside in the sun helps reliability, the lifespan of OLED being short at higher nits.

Because they know they getting quality and the best customer service there is. Who else lets you walk in shop with a faulty phone and walk out with a new one 15 minutes later? They even replaced a phone for me that was 2.5 years old because I bought all the phones since the iPhone 4 and a few iPads and iPods. No other company would do that after 2.5 years. The price is high but you can sell it for about 50% after 2 years so you are not spending all that much. Samsung be worth about 20% after 2 years so you get that back extra. I’m selling my iPhone 7 for £400 next month , paid £599 so lost £199 in 14 months. New one will be £600 more. On it daily for at least 3 hours so don’t mind paying it and I know I should get £400-500 back for it when I sell it.

I just like quality and no other companies offer as good as apple. If there’s a flaw or it’s faulty I know 100% they will replace it. They won’t send it away for weeks to fix it they will give you a brand new one. And looking at the new tests out iPhone 8 blows all other phones away. Nearly double speed of galaxy s8 and even the note. Read them yourselves

It is said they would replace some devices from bendgate whilst others they would not. Outside of Apple, it is touchgate that is thought much a part of bendgate.
So there, for bendgates touchgate you now pay £156 for a repair. Anyone paying the original fuller repair cost can claim the difference. That offer came about immediately after a class action started. For the 6s series it was fixed but I have no idea if they tackled the bend touch IC flaw in the 6 series.
