If you have the motherboard that supports these cpus then your better off spending a whopping £12 for the true quad core i5-750 uk.webuy.com/pro…50A

Wow. I actually have this exact chip in my trusty old home PC. In fairness, I do a fair amount on photoshop CS5 and it handles it fine. 1156 is a niche board though yeh.

Got two of these in the draw, been looking for an 1156 for years, not paying £60 £80 prices so yeah good luck finding a board..

exactomundo. fxxkxng chips barely celeron by todays standards.
Manky. 10% Slower than the quad Q6600 which is 2 years older. (Yeah, the i3 is a cheap dual core but matters what now) Chip is only worth 2 quid if you have something even slower in a same socket low mileage rig.

Let him have his moment - it humored himself and 9 others. For me its a case of "seen it, heard it all before" - been around on this site far too long now - you see the same recycled comments daily.

Alot of good CPU deals on CEX, I recently got a Haswell i5 for £70 which made for a nice little upgrade over the Pentium.

got to assume that anyone who already has a motherboard to fit this is likely to already have a faster chip to go in that motherboard...

They are quite old, they go for this kind of price on e-bay if you really want one. e.g. £2.70 shipped on 11th last week.

DO they actually have one though? I have tried numerous times to get various cpus from them, but despite telling the world they have them at stupidly low prices, every attempt has come up "Not in stock", or "1 in Edinburgh for collection only!".

You have to be very quick it appears as stock is usually very limited.

Thanks, can't go wrong, even with £2.50 extra for delivery.
