Have you been naughty again? :stuck_out_tongue:
I've had a few emails from various Visa offers today, so looks like they've been changed or updated. I forgot to use the Esso offer the other week, but that's returned and valid until 30/09.

If you have both first direct Visa debit and credit cards, can you register both cards and get a discount on each card?

Anyone know can I just go buy a £40 h&m gift card and still get the cashback?

Yes, its Visa themselves doing the offer through HSBC/First Direct. Once your card is registered it will automatically pick up the transaction from H&M and send the reward direct back to your account. All Visa will see is a transaction for £40 at H&M they wont know what its been spent on.
Its only a one time cashback. However watch your account closely. You should get an email about 2 days after purchase to say tracked and payment on way. My Lidl purchase tracked but didn't go to payment. There is only a contact form to get through to Visa Customer Services in America and they are useless at resolving problems

Damn, bad luck. Luckily mine tracked and paid with no hiccups. Any chance you bought alcohol only? Don't get me wrong, it is none of my business, I'm just wondering why would it not work. I had a baby milk powder and all sorts, but no alcohol and having a mate working there I got a 10% staff discount as well! So mine was £40.03 and I got a tenner back!

Hey thanks OP for post.
I have noticed on T&C it cannot be any VISA business card or debit card Hey OP thanks for post  .
I have noticed on T&Cs you cannot be eligible if you use a Debit Card. Can anyone confirm if a HSBC Visa Debit has tracked and paid your cash back?
2.2 You may not participate in the Cashback Service with a: a. Visa business or Visa corporate credit or debit card; b. Visa pre-paid card; or c. any other Visa card that is not eligible to be registered for the Cashback Service (as detailed on the Offer Channels (as defined at clause 3.2)) and/or is not registered to a billing address in the United Kingdom.

That means, I think, business debit cards only. I've been paid out on ordinary HSBC Visa debit cards - though I have to say it does seem a bit hit and miss.

Is this a one time only cash back or you get £10 back each time you spend £40 or more at lidl?

Not showing on any of my accounts - but I did use it last time (the one that expired yesterday) and I'm guessing you don't get the offer twice.

Surely Visa can only see the transaction total, and have no idea whether it's alcohol, ciggies, gift cards, or whatever?

Correct. It doesn't matter what you buy.
