Decent panel. Bought it from argos this weekend and was expecting rubbish but was pleasantly suprised. Its a VA panel type so has all the pros (better blacks etc) and cons (narrower viewing angle etc) of that type of screen, is 8Bit +FRC (so not true 10 bit but better than 8 bit), and is true 4k (rather than the other RGBW panels from LG that are often popping up here). One thing to note is that the UI is dog rough and even tho is quad core does not have the buttery smooth interface that other (better?) brands have. It has PVR and live tv pause capabilities but it is implemented very poorly due to the interface so yes, it has some great features but dont expect them to play like those of better UIs (eg sky boxes etc). That said, if you have a 4k capable set top box that you like the UI of already then you are good to go.

Sound is actually really good considering. Response time is ~50ms

seems a bit high for a hisense. the M3000 4K series were about £340 for a 49inch and £290 for a 43inch a year ago.

Looking at hisense webpage its looks like all their panels are 8Bit +FRC. Seems like their plans to release 10 bit budget tv failed...

The picture quality will me much better than a HDTV (4x better!) but if you are playing games at a competitive level (especially games like CoD) it is better to go with a 4K monitor as they have much better response times (1-5ms instead of <50ms) Hope this helped :smile:

Cheers - noticed the response time just after posting, dayum. My HDTV is 32" and mounted to the wall - I'm looking for something similar so I can just swap over the mount, and use as a second monitor for my iMac too.

For gaming and the extra benefit of HDR I would go for the 43N5700 also all Hisense HDR TVs are HDR HLG compatible which will be the main format HDR in the UK

Depends on your budget you can't go wrong with £349

I need to find a new TV for my Mum. This looks good but she doesn't need 4k. Durability and a smart TV with WiFi are her priorities. Size 36-43inches ish. Budget max £350.
Is this still a good bet despite her not needing 4k? She is upgrading from a 20year old CRT!

I would not worry about a rubbish UI if you are using a xbox for youtube, Netflix, iPlayer etc. I do the same for my Samsung uhd and Sony hd teles. So if the quality is good for football or playing fifa (anyone know) then not a bad a deal. Though I'd always check richer sounds first for any deals first.

I have a 49” hisense which allegedly has 4K HDR and does upscaling from HD....I can’t for the life of me get mine to that though?!!? Anyone help with some settings or something?!

How comes this is hot? The same price was since last month when i bought it. I have to say i feel its better tv than my samsung 4k which i bought last year (unfortunately R.I.P thanks to my baby :sunglasses: ). Sound is greeeaaat. Everything nice, easy menu (i hate lg menu) etc etc. Love watxhing 4k nature on YT

Have prices gone up? I top a similar TV last year for 100 pounds less. And it is quite decent, although you have to make the usual concessions for "supermarket" TVs.

If you mean the lg49uh5100 at Currys they are likely not available or are ex display. I have a similar dilemma. Our TV is a 7 year old 32" HD LG Currys Boxing Day special. It has been super reliable - but it's now not bright enough in strong sunlight so I have to consider replacing it.

Anyone know what input lag Thisbe is kicking out? Might Be worth it to make the PS4 pro upgrade a little cheaper, USB the picture quality actually that good or USB it worth spending not for the quality it's being better betterv what's the HDR looking like?
