Need a drive for my storage as just running a ssd, will be using it as a normal drive... Will this be any good compared to like drives such as Toshiba x300 etc?

HGST are some of the best drives on the market. I'd go for one of these over a WD / Toshiba / Seagate (in that order)

I purchased one of these from Amazon earlier this month and it came defected out of the box. The drive sounded like a grinder mincing down stone. Sent back for a replacement. The second drive had a constant clicking sound like the click of death. Did a Smart scan and it failed. Returned for refund. Don't know if I was just unlucky or if Amazon has bad stock. Please feel free to try them out and let me know if they work fine. FYI, these drives run hot at 45° in an open nas. And they're loud. Still have the urge to reorder one, but cannot afford to waste time as my 4tb drive is dying and data needs to get backed up. Might go with Toshiba.

That's the risk you take when buying from Amazon's North Korea site.

I have both 0S03665 and this 0S04005, this is a new version of 0S03665 which I have had running literally 24/7 since 26 march 2015. HGST have so many slightly different models, and since this was released in Feb 2017 (from the camel picture), its not going to have history at backblaze but its the HGST 4Tb in general which has something stupid like 0.6% failure rate. hgst.com/sit…pdf and the naming convensions of model number: harddrivebenchmark.net/hdd…tml Backblaze 2017: backblaze.com/blo…17/ 2016: backblaze.com/blo…16/ 2015: backblaze.com/blo…15/ 2014: backblaze.com/blo…14/

HGST now is part of WD. I had one of these and it died 13 months after warranty ends. But it's not a problem. There is another - it's 7200 rpm drive. Noisy and hot when running. Not a big issue when used in proper server room, but in living room is really annoying, especially on evenings. WD Red is much better choice - because is quiet and cool (pls avoid Red PRO, it's 7200 rpm drive and as noisy as HGST)
I have a Antec P180 which was designed with the help of silent pc, with rubber grommets for HD mount (probably standard fare now). It is behind a thin wall so noise isn't a priority for me. I have never heard anything from it. However, the benchmarks speak for themselves.
