Yes! It is very nice machine. It cools your beer down to 2 degrees and there is a lot of variety of beers available + limited edition and seasonal beers. Definitly worth it!

Looks like it takes rather long to get to the right temperature though: Once in THE SUB, cooling down a TORP takes 10 to 16 hours (depending on starting temperature of the TORP). When your beer is chilled to the right temperature, the light on the front of THE SUB will turn green.
To speed up the process, set your fridge at the lowest temperature and store the TORP on the lowest shelf (this is the coldest area) for 6 to 10 hours, or until the cold indicator on the TORP turns dark blue.
This is indeed a very good point. Pre-chilling the torps (beer) is a needed. A typical fridge cools the beer down to 5-7 degrees which is good enough to use it directly in the Sub. The Sub will cool it even further down to 2 degrees.
I personal usage tip i can give is to put the torp for 1 hour in the freezer. Dont forget to take it out :-) the torp is directly ready for usage!

Yes, I bought the red one rather than Heineken version. Yes yes, it holds a little under 4 pints, so not so great for swill drinking beer pigs. If you need more, look to a perfect draft or similar. Or kegerator if you are pushing out the boat.
The sub is basically a tube shaped fridge, front opens and the sub is basically a 2 litre plastic pressure bottle with a tube/nozzle built in. Beer wise, the draft is decent enough providing you've given it time to chill. From room temperature took around 4 hours to get to temp. If you're thinking of a session of more than 4 pints, stick a couple more subs in the fridge.
I bought one for a somewhat odd reason: I build 80's style arcade machines and thought it'd be good to have a beer tap built into the front of one. It certainly does the job in that respect
Obviously the beers are limited to the Heineken et al - personally can't stand Heineken but Tiger on the other hand is very drinkable.
Bit gimmicky, but decent enough if you're just having a couple of quiet drinks rather than an epic session. You can get the larger kegs for things like perfect draft, but unless you're drinking a lot or more regularily I prefer the sub for keeping things fresh

We have one of these as got for the same price via Groupon a while back. We love it and as its pressurised and a cooler you really do get a pub quality pint unlike the kegs you can buy from supermarkets etc.

The 14 torps + glasses = 1.93 per pint  Am I missing the "Deal" or is it just because it's discounted from a ridiculous RRP
So the Sub and what appears to be 1 torp (3.5 pints) £99.99 - £28.56 per pint
Whilst theres some interesting beers in the torp range the interesting ones are £8-9 per torp being ~£2.57 a pint Sorry but buying the more interesting bottled ones, the offers from most supermarkets can keep up with this pricing.

It's so simple to use to be honest, not really a big task at all. No faffing required.
It's not designed to cool your beers down, it gives you the facility to have a freshly poured beer at home and keep it cool, at a decent price IF you use it every now and again.
I've really enjoyed mine to be honest mate, I paid less than this but was prepared to buy at full price and got lucky at National Beer Week promotions a little while back.
In order for your comparison to work, you'd have to include the cost of your own fridge too wouldn't you?

This is well worth the money in my opinion, and as usual the financial nit picking comes from people who don't even own the device, as is usual on here.
Stick a few Torps in the fridge and load whenever you fancy a beer. Simple.
Once you've purchased the machine it's great value for money.
The fact the Torps hold just under 4 pints is a good thing in my opinion, as I wouldn't sink 10 pints in the house, i'd have a few at the weekend watching the footy or a movie, and I don't want to leave it on constantly.
For full disclaimer, I paid £69 for the Red Sub, a full £100 lower than this one at the time, and it looks amazing in my kitchen, and provides a talking point whenever people are round.

They seem to change all the time, but i'm sure my last one was 6 Heineken, 2 Sol and 2 Amstel Radler (my holiday lager!) for £50 odds, which worked out alright, plus as it was just over £50 it was delivered for free.

26 Sep 17#39

JusticeForThe96 to paulj48
26 Sep 17#43
I've just had two orders mate, and both times I got a deal.
I'd say the rough guide for the existing deal (14 Heineken Torps plus 6 glasses) would equate to around £1.60 a pint, which is a good deal considering you're getting a premium beer on draught in the comfort of your own home.
I've reached that calculation by subtracting £15 from the £95 price to remove the glasses, and dividing £80 by 49 (49 being the number of pints you would get from 14 Torps, roughly 3.5 per Torp)
I should have added earlier, I also got £10 Quidco on my orders as well, so make sure and check that!
Well you can count me in with that crowd, but that's mainly down to ignorance and a curious fascination as to what it does that a can in the fridge doesn't do. It certainly looks cool. Is it one of those things you don't really need but like to have, if beer is your thang? Like my coffee machine when there's perfectly ok instant?
