this has never been at RRP and actually spends more time at under £50 than over it.
hence, cold from me

As you voted cold what would you recommend instead then as I'm looking to buy a set like this? Thanks.

considering its the safety of your car, and more importantly you, i wouldnt find the cheapest set i can and buy that.
i'm not saying this set isnt safe, i voted it cold more because its been cheaper in the past and £50 is what you should consider the 'normal price' for this set. if its got everything you need and you arent a professional this set probably would be fine.
however, examples of what i'd recommend as a better investment made by more well known manufacturers might be:
I think I'd agree with you in voting cold for this as a deal; it is nearly always £50, except when it is £45, so it is not a hot deal (which is the criterion). That does not make this a bad set of equipment for the home mechanic. Having a trolley jack is really useful, as are the axle stands, as long as one is not working on too heavy a car. The creeper trolley is probably useless with this set as the user will not be able to get a car high enough to use it safely, but it might prove useful as a trolley to wheel bags of potatoes around on.

yes, this is what i (eventually) explained - its not a bad set but you can often get it cheaper, and you can get better quality for not a lot more

Aren't half those things you posted the same stuff in a different paint colour? The Sealy set has the exact same creeper - even has the same retaining clips on the sides in orange. Same jackstands in red versus yellow. Like any "supermarket" brand type stuff, Halfords will buy these in from some place and have them branded, the same tools are just given a lick of paint.
No knocking either of them, just they are not likely of any better quality than the Halfords alternative for the extra cash.

the Sealey set looks pretty similar i admit, but i'd much rather the axle stands and creeper i linked as examples but as above, unlikely to get the car high enough for a creeper to be of much use with this set anyway
lift on the Sealey one i linked is much higher than the Halfords set (390mm vs 340mm)

Yeah jack I would certainly agree with, I bought a cheap one many years ago from Screwfix, and the wheel mountings bent on it! Again, just to reiterate, use stands once its up!

Sorry but this is cold pal. Got the same set for £25 iirc

Bear in mind the jack doesn't lift very high. I can just about get my MR2 on axel stands placed under the subframe, but there's not a chance I can get them under the sill jacking points without using a wooden block to increase the jack lift.
Similar story with my Countryman.
The axle stands themselves are fine, the wheel chocks too. Wouldn't pay much attention to the wrench as you'd be much better placed with an extendable one.
The creeper is quite flimsy but as others have advised, the kit won't lift the car high enough for you to get under the car with it, it's fine if you're in and around the arches doing brake work or similar.

Good set but average price.
i paid £50 for this before.
the creeper is rubbish though unless it's on smooth concrete. Kept snagging on our tarmac drive.

I've seen this before on ebay for £50 without the free delivery.

I wonder why this has reached 142 degrees when the consensus is that it is:
a. Not a hot very deal at £50.
b. The tools themselves are not particularly suitable or well manufactured.
... sometimes HUKDs is baffling!

As others have said I wouldn't scrimp on a cheap jack. I've had this exact kit and it's useless, the jack looses pressure within months, the creeper useless unless on a perfectly smooth surface and generally feel poor quality. I ended up getting an Arcan jack from Costco which has lasted 8 years so far and got Halfords advanced ratchet axle stands when they were about £10 a while back.

Before you buy a Trolley jack you need to check your cars sill height and the jacks maximum reach height. I am awaiting a good deal to come on a low slung / low entry trolley jack short based to fit in a boot?

Sorry, just spotted this, when I was buying mine Halfords had a different model that looked pretty much identical except it was lower so would fit under a lower car, same price as well I seem to remember.

This set is garbage. The jack doesn’t lift that high and mines fallen apart after about 12 lifts , the stabilisation bars for the lifting had have snapped off at the head. I’m only lifting a 1.3 ton Golf and this is rated to 2ton

I would take it back if I were you, mines lasting well so far.
