There is also a cashback deal if you buy this motherboard with select CPUs on the same order that isn't mentioned on the product page. Details can be found here:
The CPUs on ccl are a bit overpriced but if you get this mobo and an i5 7600k you get £35 cashback which makes it a decent deal.
£134.99 for Ultra Gaming motherboard (£118.84 on amazon) Free Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED Cooler (£24.99 from eclipse computers) £217.96 for i5 7600k CPU (£204.99 on amazon) £35 cashback from gigabyte

£135 on a "gaming" mobo, that's bloody insane! Buy the cheapest motherboard possible with the features needed and then spend extra on GFX card!

Even the cheap Z270 or even a Z170 is only going to be about 20-30 quid less which lets be honest is not going to get you any more of a graphics card certainly not enough to go up to the next in any range from AMD or Nvidia. Lets say you go down further to an H or B board range, you are still not getting any more card for £60 change (yes you could buy a different brand as an "upgrade" maybe with a little more clock or better cooling) and sacrificing elsewhere. £60 spare change on a PC build is neither here nor there really - certainly not enough to get you anything extra on GPU side of things.

£135 on a Z270 motherboard when Z370 and gen 8 are just around the corner is also insane... Unless you absolutely need to build something tomorrow then you're better off waiting a bit.

Do you know if the Z370 will work with 6th and/or 7th gen chips too?

Still nothing concrete to go on... The latest rumours (take with a pinch of salt!) are that 8th gen processors might work on 200 series boards just without processor graphics working. Haven't really seen anything about 7th gen working on z370 though.

CoffeeLake goes up to 6 cores, I honestly don't think 200 series chipset are going to support that. The leaked roadmap shows that there will be 2xx (280?) motherboards released way after 3xx motherboards - they want to mil early adopters on the CPU AND the chipset and only release cheaper chipsets much later. Allowing backwards compatibility would mess with their cow milking plans.

Thanks both for sharing what you know. I guess i will wait till the end of this year before refreshing my build. Planning on downsizing to a mATX. and currently rocking a 6600k and Z170 board.

Funny you should mention that... I almost literally need to build one tomorrow  Damn thing keeps offering me the Creators Update and failing. Clean install doesn't work ether, so I figured it's time to start afresh...

I think you need my Phantek Enthoo Pro case to fit a Hyper 212 cooler though

Nonsense!
It's not even that big.

I must admit I dont know the size of the 212, but nearly EVERY PC case I looked at on Amazon last week had the Question "Will a Hyper 212 fit?"; so I assumed it was one of the taller varieties.

It isn't, people are idiots (like that even needs to be clarified).

Actually it doesn't fit into several cases which I have been looking at. It needs at least 160mm clearance.

looks good. Using Amazon as the comparison, the cost of the bling is being covered with in existing margins
