Even though it's priced at 99p and less than the £1 cashback, TCB have paid the cashback at £1 and not declined it being less than the cashback amount.
Well done to OP for finding this and well done to TCB for honouring it - confirmed as payable today for yesterdays receipt.

I've never donated to a food bank but I've recently discovered there's one a mile or 2 away from me (I don't drive).. is there anything we have to do like package the food up or into anything? Or can I just turn up with a couple of carrier bags and they'll accept it?

Yes, just turn up or donate to a Church. I've slipped a little, but used to donate quite a bit and stock pile freebies (well the ones I wouldn't usually take) along with bits I buy when on offer.
There can be abuse of the foodbanks, but you just have to accept that. There are thousands who genuinely need the help ...................................... sadly.

You are a good un  im not a great situation myself, single parent, min wage ect but fortunately I dont need to use a food bank or anything. This last year I have noticed there are probably triple the amount of homeless people around and sadly I don't like to give them money because majority of them look as they are off their face or hanging around with people that are drugged up. I don't want to give them change to add to their drug or alcohol fund so I'd much prefer to give them food or take food to a food bank. A couple of months ago ago I was in Liverpool for a mini break away with my daughter. There was a guy sat in a doorway with a notice saying x serviceman in need of funds to pay for food. I went in poundland next door and bought him some drinks and a few bars of chocolate bars ect as I thought he probably won't get to have stuff like that often. I went to give it to him and he was sat with 2 junkies and when he said Thankyou it was clear he was off his face. It really annoyed me. I know serious drug addiction is an awful evil thing (I've seen it with a very close family member my whole life) but my family member managed to still work and lived a reasonably normal life, until it took him  I want to help people that I see with less then me (even though I don't have much) but a lot of them won't help their selves. Giving to a food bank makes me feel much better about giving to people in need as like you said you know some of is going to true people in need. Thanks for the idea backinstock.. I will do what you said you do.. stock pile what I can and take it  also sorry about my depressing rant

Thanks and you are obviously a caring person. A few years back I wanted to support an unknown (as in nominated) family who were struggling and approached my local foodbank about my idea. They told me it's a no-no as you could get too emotionally involved. Good advice really, leave it to the professionals and simply donate. Abuse happens, you have to live with it.
Best wishes, but you have made my day. :innocent:

My tesco and sainsburys have a box at the front of the store for you to put donations in then the food bank comes and collects them.

I think it's just the original. I'm not 100% on that but if memory serves me right I think I only saw the red box when I was in there couple of days ago
