You need to download the Apple Store" app from the App Store, then go to the store of your choice and scroll down to see available courses. They usually show a few days ahead, and you just book from there. I did 3 courses one afternoon - they do not mind how many you use. They even do a walk about photography course around the local area. sometimes you get a course all to yourself! They also do courses on programming, and the Sphero.

Not necessarily. In the case of less tech savvy people, it allows them to get the most out of the product, including things they didn’t know were available.

As someone who has several decades experience in IT at various levels it made me face palm that someone would make such a poorly thought out comment, even if it was just the usual brand slating that's seen as cool by some. Does everyone with a windows device know how to do everything on it? Judging by my former employment, i'd suggest otherwise.
My 9 year old attended a basic introduction to programming a few weeks back, they started using a Sphero amongst other things, it's not an apple product (they do sell them), but the control and programming can be accomplished via iPad/iPhone etc. No hard sell, she got a free t-shirt and a certificate, as well as an appreciation of something else that she can do that's fun. Admittedly we did buy a Sphero as a result (for a fraction of the RRP from eBay), but it was the BB8 version which I think is cool and i've discovered it's great for chasing the cats round the house. As someone who was employed to teach adults how to use computers previously, it was a well run and well staffed course, pitched at the right level and progressed well each day which is the polar opposite of programming courses i've attended. It allowed my daughter to see how coding can have real world applications and implications - more than one Sphero went flying out into a crowded shopping centre at break neck speed despite some great goal keeping by the genius team on the door way - and to do something that she wouldn't have necessarily had the opportunity to try otherwise.

There courses also include a variety of their party software, not just Apple, tons of media Pro's use Apple gear for a reason, & not all of them use Apple Software. Have ever used a Mac?

Generally speaking they are courses on Apple only software or Apple devices, there no selling other than obviously you must have/ had the Apple hardware / software to get much use out of the course. I've not had any hard sell.
It is clever marketing but I think its more along the lines of if they give you training on a set product you'll use it over the competition, and when it comes to upgrade time you'll be more likely to keep using Apple as you have the background in them.
Depending on attendee numbers depends how much the trainer (or Creative in Apple speak) can tailor the course to you, If you are the only person and have questions they will go into greated depth on the area you are interested in..
There also the Apple Studio Hours, where you can take your phone / ipad/MacBook in with the project you are working on and get 1:1 help on a specific aspect, although like the courses it depends on numbers as to the amount of 1:1 help you get in each 90 min session.

Not sure what your trying to point out rather than the obvious, you make training on apple software sound limited, as far as music is considered Logic Pro x is one of the leading music making apps, by far the cheapest and most used at any music college, having free training on this is fantastic. The teachers tend to be industry pro's not apple employees and no pressure to purchase or use only apple gear.

Yes Logic Pro X used to be £149 now it's gone up to £199 (but free upgrade for existing users), however it's still way cheaper than the rest (apart from CockOS Reaper). Cubase Pro 9 is £468. If you're in to music creation and want to use a fully fledged sequencer pro audio app, then Logic is excellent.

My point was Apple run these courses so you get used to and use Apple software. IMovie, Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro are only available on Apple devices. Thats a lot of money you have invested for the device and spoftware.
Apple hope that you'll get used to these products and use them, and when you are in the market for a new PC you'll stick with Apple. Its no different to Microsoft who give away software to students under the Dreamspark / Imagine projects, so when the students enter the works of wok they will be using Microsoft software forevermore.

I can see your point Gavin but this isn't some third party clone software, honestly you couldn't be more wrong, I work in the media industry & we use a variety of Mac's and PC's all doing professional jobs. Final Cut and Logic Pro are amazing professional software, even if you had the choice of PC & Mac and apps many will still choose the software, wether it's on a Mac or a PC. Yes they are Apple Apps but they are no different to any other pro app, apart from being considerably cheaper! Pro's use these apps because they like the app not because the don't want to sell their PC or Mac especially Logic Pro X. It's a good deal because students can get free courses on apps, that Pro's use.

I did a couple of these a year or two ago, it was great fun, and informative. I didn't learn as much as hoped, but others attending seemed to be very new to computers in general, not just the ipad (which the course was about) so they learned more. I loved it for that, telling them something, and even for telling me something new for 5 mins is 5 mins more than I knew before, so worth an hour of free-ness.
I certainly liked it!
No app required, you can check it on a pc/laptop, I used apple.com/uk/…ay/ and it mentions locations. Think you can specify your local place somewhere, I entered my postcode and it mentions a heap that are close and not close. Scroll to the bottom to see the courses - showed specific things at top of page with big pics (not relevent to me, but looked interesting)
