I think it's because those Baby Boxes low-income families* get DO have boxes that can be used as cribs, and Amazon quite rightly are pointing out theirs isn't suitable.

Various Scandinavian countries have been handing out kits in boxes that then double as a safe place for babies to sleep in, for decades. Supposed to help reduce the chance of cot deaths. Standard practice in Finland to ALL parents, regardless of circumstances, and no stigma attached as for low income because of materials used. This has been talked about regularly over the years in the news. bbc.co.uk/new…415 - just one example. Having three kids I've heard about them on and off for many years. Been in the news lately that these might not be as effective in cutting infant deaths as first thought. Amazon are just giving the heads up that these aren't those ones nor suitable for that purpose. Sensible of them to mention it.

Why not? You get sample breast pads and also discount for the electric breast pump. Then the bottles can also be used for the expressed milk..? It's free... Can't expect everything.

Did you put them on your wish list then go to wish list and add then from there to basket? Easy to miss this step and it would then not work

I added them to baby wish list and purchased from there - but I think what may of gone wrong is that once an item was dispatched it showed up on the total counting towards my eligible order- but my 2yr old randomly pressed the screen like a ninja which removed the item from my wish list and from my total spend :thinking: but when I pressed undo it appeared as if it hadn't been purchased atall. It would appear the items must remain on your wish list even after purchase and not be deleted until after that box is claimed otherwise it takes it away from your total. I did speak to amazon support but I'm not sure if they even understood exactly what I meant

I would personally get on the chat and argue with Amazon that you are entitled to the box and they are not giving you one, no matter what you have accidentally pressed they have an obligation to provide what they promised. And they are usually good in these situations. Should not matter that they don't understand what went wrong.

Yes I did complain the other night and it did sound quite promising,they said they would get back to me but I didn't hear back from them. I was worried that I may miss out so ended up placing another order for other items and have successfully claimed a box now. Will have a cuboard full of wetwipes now but we get through loads anyway with all these kids :thumbsup:

Looking at the dimensions of the box, (31.4 x 28.9 x 12.5 cm) I don't know how you'd fit a baby in it anyway.

Did the box appear to choose in your Baby Wish List? I've filtered Purchased and Unpurchased and nothing appears. It shows that I bought two things yesterday that added up to more than £20 :thinking:

Thanks. I've worked out why it's not working. I chose the No Rush delay-the-shipping-and-get-a-free-£1 delivery, so the main item doesn't ship until tomorrow. Worra chump I am.
[EDIT] Also the claim button has appeared showing the status of my progress and is telling me only £8.99 of my spend has been dispatched, which is really handy.

they mainly look like samples what they not only get free but no doubt get paid to give out to customers so not as good as it sounds if you ask me and its not free you have to pay £20, its free if you was going to buy £20 of items beforehand .

I can't see it either. Can see a link to a free MAM bottle when spending £10 but nothing about the baby box. I just purchased a baby health kit for >£20 and it has just dispatched. The MAM bottle discount doesn't work either.

If I remember it correctly, last time it was restricted to paid members of Prime and excluded Student & Trial prime members, but this time it clearly says "This Offer is only available to customers with a trial or paid membership to Amazon Prime or Amazon Student."
