Summarised for those who don't know, this is basically an external soundcard for your computer with 'professional' grade inputs (XLR) for microphones and jack outputs for active speakers (speakers with amps built into their cabinet).
Also, just for the record, the Focusrite 2i2 is garbage. This however is an excellent purchase considering the price, the amount of inputs etc for this money is crazy.
The reason these are being sold cheap is because Firewire is now a dead platform and Focusrite have jumped on board with Thunderbolt connection for their new interfaces so the last of these are being shifted.
I've used this interface quite a bit with a MAC Mini and a Firewire to Thunderbolt adapter and it works flawlessly.

Just out of curiosity, why do you think so? I always thought the 2i2 was a great entry-level piece of kit that did what it says on the tin fo4 a good price?

The pre-amps didn't have enough gain for some of my dynamic mics (max 55dB if I remember correctly), most probably down to being bus-powered and they also seemed to like clipping easily.
The small silver switch on the front broke when I used it for like the 3rd time. The output converters sounded muddy to my ears and most importantly the Windows drivers at the time were flat out broke.
Maybe my expectations for the money were just a bit high.

Another warning that Focusrite's drivers are distinctly sub-par and consistently come bottom of performance rankings like DAWBench.
These units date back to 2008 and despite the Focusrite branding were very much built down to a cost with off-the-shelf parts and OEM chips and a decade later there are much better options - hence why this old stock is being sold off presumably.

I have the Focusrite Scarlett and it hasn't been as stable as I'd liked. I'd advise everyone to check the reliability of these units and the drivers/software before purchasing.
I'm looking at buying an Audient interface. Lots of superb reviews for that unit and if you don't need all the inputs it could be worth looking at. it isn't a lot more expensive than this.

top quality bit of kit and very tempting as I'm currently using a Soundcraft UI16 for my interface along with an old M-audio Delta 10-10 card. My setup works but I am tying up a £400 tablet controlled mixer and using it as an interface instead of what its actually for.
Top Bombing!

Don't do it, keep the 2i2. They're rock solid. Unless you have something older with a firewire interface and don't mind that support might wane for whatever you run it on (paranoia but it seems ok for now).
Failing that, sell me your 2i2 for cheap.

I miss my terratec 24/96 card with the breakout box. It was perfect.. damn built in obsolescence. Though if I was in the market. I'd be looking here. That's a monster array of inputs for not much money.

Then you really shouldn't be commenting.
My wife has said just this week that she wants to get a purpose built music room built so that me and our son can keep our equipment set up (me keys, him guitar, bass, upright bass, orchestral double bass, keys and, recently just taken up, violin) so this might come in handy. Especially since our son is taking music at A level and at university afterwards, all being well. I just have to have a gander at the full specs and discuss it with him.
